Its a pity the price on this has not returned to previous levels - as cars that can run on vegetable oil start very well on this in cold weather.

Dude, it's because of the idiots , particularly in the US, who started using cooking oils to run their cars that the price of petrol and food shot up few months ago. :)

Tell us more about this - you seem to know quite a bit to base these facts on.

I heard it was a guy called "Rudolph something" that started it by running an engine on some plant based oil.

been meaning to try these cheaper oils but the family is a crisp and dry fan when frying. does anyone know if these are any good for frying or give comparison between this and crisp n dry?

No offence, but I think you will find the branded oils are only more expensive as people have attitudes like yours.

Possibly but I disagree, I found in the past that chips, samosa's were more crisp with crisp n dry compared to the cheepy oils
