Supporting sustainable British Farming has always been and continues to be at the heart of Yeo Valley. We are constantly looking for ways to work in harmony with nature and the cycle of the seasons. Wherever possible we get our energy for the farm from the sun and concentrate on utilising plants that fix nitrogen into the soil rather than relying on artificial chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
However, farming sustainably and organically means more than this, for us it’s a way of life. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to find new ways we can reduce, re-use and recycle, as well as fostering a balanced eco-system that supports itself as much as possible.
Our organic milk comes from a West Country based Cooperative, called OMSCo (Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative) whose farmers take great care of their dairy herds and pride in the quality of milk they produce. Success for us in supplying more product, results in growing the organic milk market to support British Farmers.
We believe if we look after the land and our animals, they’ll look after us in return. Better grass and natural living conditions make better-fed, happier cows!
