Yum. This is the 'spread' we are allowed in my house. Damn tasty though.

Great timing, I used the last of a tub this morning

Same as the 1kg for £3 at Asda (except I've never been able to get one!)

Why does anyone buy this? It's more expensive than regular butter, and isn't as good due to added buttermilk/water. Buy regular butter and keep it in the fridge. Just 15 secs in the microwave softens it perfectly for spreading.

I don't think you're correct that this is more expensive than real butter. 250g packs of Lurpak are 2 for £2.00, so 1kg would cost £4.00. Obviously this deal gives you 1kg for £3.00.

That said, I think the real butter represents a better deal for exactly the reason that the spreadable version has the buttermilk and water added.

I agree that it's not quite as nice as the real thing, but it's the closest thing I've found. I'm lazy and just want it to spread straight from the fridge, so this is perfect for me - heat added.

Tastes pretty good to me. Thanks for posting

You could always keep the butter in a covered butter dish on the counter somewhere, that way you get the real deal, always spreadable instantly :)
