What are these like, anyone had one? - I have had to take so many Freeview boxes back in the past due to them using same frequencies as my existing TV's etc, i.e when you turn TV up on your TV Remote the freeview channel changes.

Good deal if they are half decent though.

I bought one about 3 months ago for £17.97 and it works fine.

Excellent bargain (if you happen to need two that is!)

I'm loving analouge switch off up here in the North West btw. We bought a Freeview box for our bedroom after DSO and we get every channel on every MUX from both the Granada and HTV Wales regions with a perfect picture using just an indoor aerial.

The aerial isn't even near the (double glazed) window and the bedroom actually faces away from the transmitter yet the signal is still brilliant!

Won't be long until they're giving them away with pints of milk but this is a step in the right direction :-D

Hot.

With HD Freeview starting to be rolled out around the country, I see little point in buying new SD Freeview boxes (or indeed TV sets with SD Freeview built in) if your region is about to get HD Freeview. Heck, even Wales gets it this June (in time for the World Cup, just!) and they're only 4 months away, then surely it's a pass on this offer for most people?

Wait a minute. £17.97 divided by 2 = slightly less than £9.

By Jove, you're not wrong!

I don't know about 'most people', my region is not due to get HD freeview until april/june 2011. Since i don't have a HD telly I don't really care. :-D

You're logic assumes that the new Freeview HD boxes will be selling at the same price level as old SD Freeview boxes.

Doesn't implement price reduction for me.

I've got one of these and its a great little unit

In fact I might go see im my local has them in to replace the crap one I have in the bedroom that stalls all the time

I honestly cannot fault this at 18 quid never mind 241

It even turns my TV on and off via scart control, video in epg, last channel swap button etc
