This will work on new xbox's or any xbox that has not used the free month xbox live gold trial

When you buy a new xbox you get 1 month free on xbox live Gold

But only if you create a new profile(gametag)

If you do this then go to the link or to your xbox live dashboard there is an offer to get a trial extension with 2 free games (The Maw and Aqua!) for £1

The games on the dashboard offer seems to be different games to the link( r-type dimensions and lode runner)

So you can get another months gold membership and 2 arcade games for £1

The games codes will be emailed to you can take 6-8 weeks

Once the games are downloaded to the console they can be used on any profile on that console

Make sure that you cancel the auto renew or after the free months it will then charge you each month

call xbox support to do this cancel the auto renew at anytime
020 7365 9792 or 0800 587 1102

I've done this with my xbox which i've had for few months and my bro law which he had today

So It should work not sure how long this offer is on for though

oh and for taking up the trial also get a free gift which I think is a black controller for your avatar (again emailed to you)

hope this info helps

You're right! Except, you're not.

Cancelling takes a few minutes. I'd take two games for free if it meant a few minutes on the phone/website.

The Maw is a very good game.

i had to tell the bank id lost my card so theyd issue another to get rid of microsoft and there godforsaken 4.99 a month , the 02 pre paid debit card is good for this sort of thing as its free to use

This is my scenario..

Never had a XBOX LIVE subscription just joined the XBOX Live Free

So I can sign up for Gold for a month @ £1 and cancel just before the month is over?

All you have to do to cancel is call MS (which is a free number). I dunno why people make out it's so difficult.

As I have created new account with a UK address, I just get offered 1 month XBOX Live Trial and no games.

Just spoke to someone from xbox confirming all the details. I can cancel just before the month is over or even now just cancel the auto renew.

I rang once as a test, I was on hold for 10 minutes. Then I decided not to go through with it. Maybe I was just unlucky

Anyone who replies from now on saying microsoft rob card details and don't know how to cancel their renewal are thick as ****! Really bugs me this is all you can talk about in a thread, have a bit of common sense and go to your account settings to cancel a payment, or ring them! Hot from me.

I've got this offer on my dashboard, will probably go for it. One thing though, think they have taken away the facility to cancel recurring payments on your account online now. I definitely cancelled the recurring payment on my son's account online, but all I can see now on my account is 'please phone customer services to cancel'.

People complain about it so much because Microsoft make it easy to pay for subscriptions but the second you've paid they put walls to prevent you from cancelling. The UK is the only place that you can't cancel or remove details from the console or their website. Even though they both have the necessary sections you'll always be told to call them.

I ordered this deal on the 21st of January and I'm still awaiting my games.

once you sign up for the free month offer the other offer for the 2 free games will be on the dashboard then you have sign up and give them credit details but you don't have wait till the of the end month can ring and cancel the auto renewal straight away, yes can take a a weeks to get the games but 2 games for £1 is worth the call to cancel auto renewal IMO, as I said seem to be different games on the link to the dashboard so take your choice.

why can't i sign up for the offer? i haven't signed up for xbox live ever?

No offer wasn't on dashboard but i got the £1 offer...games I can do without...just wanna experience what all this fuss is about. Stopped the auto renew via telephone so all good!

Okay so some say it is just easy to cancel your card details with xbox live but I dont want to have to ring microsoft and ask them to remove it because they decide to remove the option on the dashboard which they did and really pi**ed me off. if you dont mind calling to cancel then this is a good price

It no longer appears in your account settings. Only way is to ring up. I've done it before though, it's easy.

I've rung up before and stopped my account auto renewing (was coming to the end of my 12 months, didn't want to pay full price for another 12!!!)

It's a freephone number and the people where very helpful, so getting a month of xbox live gold and some free games for a quid seems like a good deal if you can get it!

Oh and they just released the Dragon Age 2 demo for download, so quite good timing!

It's not on the dash use the link in the description xbox en-gb etc. Use that link to sign into your silver membership account online (via laptop or pc), pay the pound and then you'll be a gold member on your xbox
