At the time of posting the printer was available for £41 direct from Amazon.

Great stuff. Just placed an order. Thanks bingsy.
#4
ordered one of these from Ebuyer.com last night for £43.14.
#5
Ordered, thanks.
Have a MP160 already, which is great; at this price it's cheaper than buying ink.
#6
who are they to decide the offer is only available to amazon.co.uk....doesn't mention anything like that on cannon's terms.
#7
Which is the best printer out of this one & the HP Photosmart C4180?
#8
How much is the ink for one of these?

It does say that it applies to participating retailers only. If you can find it cheaper than amzaon, that might be an issue, but amazon seem about the cheapest.

ah so it does..did notice that it was almost £10 cheaper than everywhere else anyway after I posted that...I bought one anyway!

thanks bingsy. Hope you don't mind - added a few tags to help find this again later. Seems suitable for my purposes although I'll look around for generic ink prices/performance first.

Great deal - £21 for an all-in-one after the rebate! Stunning.

Ordered, and voted HoT!

A quick Google drew a blank for compatible cartridges. If there aren't compatibles, then even at £21 I would give it a miss (shame, as the kids need a new printer).
#17
...to buy or not to buy....

very hot in here....

There are compatibles but only save £2-£2.5 for the same ink capacity (12ml). The link below is for the tri-colour ink where you save £2.50 for the compatible while a black colour ink, you save £2 for the compatible.

There is a web address on the PDF http://www.canon.co.uk/pixmapromotion/ But page isn't found, poor job, but perhaps they haven't set it up yet.

Is this better than the MP160? It appears you can buy Remanufactured Cartridges 21ml for the MP160 but not for this particular printer?

Thanks,
G
#22
Ink too expensive, even with compatibles (see above). Might be worth having as a second printer with scan/copy function through. My old Epson just prints (and does so well) but the carts only cost me less than £2...

I guess it's a newer model - therefore probably slightly better, the MP160 is over a year old now.
Give it a few months and cartridges will become available for this, but really for £21, can't complain - buy a few, keep the ink and pass them on as presents.

I've had 2 fairly new Epsons wrecked by cheap compatibles, just cloggs them up, so personally wouldn't risk it.
I use the Canon for general office duties, mostly copying, it's great.
#26
so not as good a deal as we thought ,still make a good present for someone, just dont tell them the ink prices
#27
the cl-41 is £13.10 direct from amazon
#28

Print out the page from amazon, and print out this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/editorial/price-match-promise
Take it into PC world and you can get one for the amazon price minus 10% of the difference, which brings it to below £40 before cashback. And you get to annoy PC world staff :)

Ordered 2 - one for spare ink:-D

Thanks djfluff

I went to PC in Leeds and said I've seen the printer on Amazon.co.uk for £41 and can you price match. He went away looked on his computer and he came back and said yes. I asked about the 10% discount and he took me to the till and processed my order. It came to £38 ish.

I come home and printed out the voucher and and filled it in. It's in an envelope with the original receipt (I've made a copy for myself) and ready to be posted tomorrow.

Hot, the cart's alone would cost more. I always have room for a spare printer or two! :-D

get pcworld to price match this also!
#35
dispatched already and due for delivery on the 22nd, not bad for super saver
#36
Those interested to know about the ink JR Inkjet's website say that the MP210 is refillable and a search for this model brings up the refills but no compatible cartridge.

HERE'S THE LINK

So looks as though refilling originals is fine?
#37
The claim form states that you will get cashback if the item is bought from the participating retailer. However, I can't find a list of participating retailers. Can anyone please guide me to this...
Also, is PC World a participating retailer?

Thanks.

Yes, but that's the point. It's false economy when you figure in cart prices (not to mention the ecological implications of such thinking...)

i suspect they dont mean that its exclusive to amazon......I think they are stating that from an Amazon website only point of view you will only be able to get the rebate if you buy from Amazon, but not if you buy from ordinary sellers like me who occasionally sell on amazon via amazon marketplace

their statement has just been badly worded.
