Ive been told the deal starts this monday. If you dont need four right now you can take some away with you to be fitted free at a later date. Sooooooooooooo much cheaper than ****fit, and just in time for the wet slippery winter roads, sorted!

Cool, good find might get voted cold as some people wont pay to get a Costco card.
#2
i usually get at least 20-25% off anyway - you just have to ask for a discount before you pay
#3
Well at another tyre retailer 4 will cost c £300 before any discount,at costco it will be c£185.

Im not a big costco fan as i find them expensive for most things nowadays, used to be much much better. Only go 2 times a year.
Black circles c£268

Theres dozens of sizes to choose from, the 4x4 tyres/posh car tyres I`d guess must be a hell of a lot cheaper than elsewhere? I may be wrong though, best checking first guys.
#5
Why?

Im not worried about hot/cold etc, just thought someone might save a bit of cash. Take it or leave it, lifes too short to bother trying to prove a point thats unimportant.:w00t:

Oh well here you go then if its really so important to you 195/50/15v, if you find cheaper thats great, I`ll go there instead, now are you a happy bunny?

I tend to buy my tyres from here http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ I was told that they are actually part of the National Tyres chain, and as they buy in bulk, then can usually pass on the discount to the customers. Therefore, you order your tyres on-line, then choose the fitting store that thends to be a National Tyres depot.

Many of you will argue that this is not the same as getting the tyres done the same day, but if I need the tyres fitted immediately, I will usually get the price for the tyre on-line, then ask whether they can price match or even better the deal I've found, and in my experience, National Tyres have always been able to do that.

What exactly is you problem? As you well know a "name" on here means absolutely nothing to no one. Yes the name is daft,as are most and it has absolutely nothing to do with my lifestyle,in fact its far from it in reality. Whats with the hostility?
#9
Anyway...

Great deal. Shame you usually only need 2 at a time. I bought 4 when they had this deal on a few months back and stuck 2 in the garage with the reciept and they will fit them when I need it done.

I paid around £60ish each for Michellin 205/55/16s for my A4 and best for this tyre elsewhere was around £90.

And if you get an Executive Costco Card you get 2% cashback.

I suggest you reread what i wrote,i said i didnt care about hot/cold etc,i didnt say i didnt care about price.

Have a look at the way you asked your question,it wasnt exactly done in friendly way was it?

Anyway no offence was meant by me and I think weve just misunderstood each other so lets just put it behind us eh.

Niceone,have a good night:thumbsup:

Excellent. I need a pair and last time I bought tyres Costco where cheaper than the other quotes I got even without this kind of offer. I just couldn't make that last couple of mm go far enough for the 20% offer to come round.
#13
Thanks, guess I'll be popping down to costco next week :-D
#14
Michelin are the best tyres and the aftercare is great. I have never found anyone to beat them on price when they have this deal.
#15
I'm after 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, and have searched thew following discount retailers online, Black Circles, Etyres, Event Tyres, Mytyres and Valuetyres.

To my surprise Kwik Fit have worked out the cheapest, this is in part due to them currently offering 25% off of 4 Michelin tyres and 15% off of 2 until 28th November. I know that Kwik Fit isn't the place that a lot of people will go to due to bad experiences and their reputation for sometimes being economical at best with the truth, but this represents good value for me.

If by joining Costco and paying the Trade Membership fee they are able to offer me a better deal than Kwik Fit, I will be there to purchase my tyres this weekend.
#16
Does anyone know when this deal finishes please?
#17
There is a local company I use for tyres, Costco quite expensive and most people dont generally need 4 tyres
#18
Had tyres fitted at the watford one and drove away all the weights came off, thought I was being shot at.
#19
I've been told by two different stores that the deal doesn't start until 2nd November and runs for three weeks...
#20
chk out camskill.co.uk

usually good prices..

I recently used this company http://www.tyretraders.com/ the service was fantastic and the price was brilliant- they will even beat any other price and the tyres are fitted by a local garage for you.

£60ish, that's very good for Michelin's! I need the same size for my Saab so may have a look at these.

One thing that pi$$es me off about my car, the tyres are 205/50/16.
What's so bad about that you may ask? Well they are a fraction smaller than the tyres quoted above yet cost £128 each for the same make and model of tyre!!!!
And all because they are an 'odd' size.

Sorry, just thought I'd have a rant :x:x:x

understandable, but yours are a lower profile so they are better:thinking:

Does anyone know if Costco will order in non-standard sizes, like 295/35/18 for example?

Yeah, but double the price for less rubber?!?:?
#29
Got 4 for my BMW this time last year, £186 all in.

Costco is used by a lot of taxi drivers in Aberdeen. They will go through more tyres than the majority so cant see them paying over the odds.
#30
Yes sure they will order in if Michelin make them. They don't don't make a 185/55/16 which a Nissan Note SVE uses I found out.

Yeah, but double the price for less rubber?!?:?

without gettin scientific, there's more than rubber in 'em. double price does suck though...
#32
I need some 185/55/15 and I cant find cheap ones anyway!!
#33
I get mine here , they now fill them with nitrogen too . Whatever that does I don't know

You have the same size tyre as me. I have a good tip for you. I tried pirelli p6000s (£100 each) they didnt grip very well in the wet and didnt last very long.

I went to camskill for 205/50/16 falken fk452 and got them for £45 each then got the local fitters to whack em on for £10 each. They're great tyres, get brilliant reviews (people fit them on M3s and 350Zs), are long lasting and most importantly, cheap!!!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
#35
very good deal all the same as it will cost you an arm and a leg elsewhere!
#36
michelin tyres for me are excellent in wet and dry and they last. Costco have always proved cheapest for them for me and this deal is definitely hot

£130 each from kwik fit v's £90 each from costco for me

Yes anything michelin make they will order.
#38
Anyone else here have experience with 225/40/18 from Costco? I would normally have Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3, but if the right tyres can be had at the right price, I'd have a go.
#39
^As above. Same size for me also. I normally run Toyo Proxes but Ive heard good things about Eagle F1. If costco could get something like these rather non-standard sizes in (maybe pilot sport etc) and sell at a decent price, I would be most happy. Have some heat regardless.

Edit: I think the nitrogen maybe something to do with less expansion than air at higher temps/speeds.
#40
Nitrogen is used in aviation tyres as it is inert so won't add to a fire if the brake pads sieze. I think the benefit in a car is that they don't have any moisture in them (unlike atmospheric air compressed in to the tyre) and I may be wrong but I think the molecules are thicker so won't seep through the tyre as eaily. But as I said that last suggestion may be pretentious waffle :)

As others said Costco will order any tyre that Michelin make. And to the poster who needs the funny size tryes it may be that the speed rating is higher hence the higher price. My A4 tyres are about £80 each in Costco (before the 20%) but if I went down one speek rating they drop another £15-20 but that would invalidate my insurance.
