20% off them means Vitamix's start from pretty (relatively) decent £319.99. Or £479.99 for the pretty expensive 500 version. Yes - they're not cheap, but if this is what you're after then prices are pretty decent :)

Well I'm going to vote hot for you as I think that this is a good price for Vitamix. Yup, they're flipping expensive but if you're in the market for one, this is a good price. And I believe that is what HUKD is about - a good price for what you want to buy.

Managed to get JL to price match the professional 500, now to decide whether I want to spend that much!

The optimum 9400 is a rival brand in Australia, seems cheaper and more powerful, which to get??

I am tempted by the pro 500 too even though it seems obscenely expensive. I'd go for the Aspire but we are a family of 7.

well.. I actually went for nutribullet in end! It was mostly for myself and I ended up deciding nutri would be fine (smaller and not making big fam-sized portions!

totally agree. Mate got vitamix (don't know which one) and he swears by it. But for me the nutribullet had devoured pretty much everything. Nuts/ raising/seeds it has a diff blade for which works amazingly, but can be annoying switching blades at times tbh. But am extremely happy with it. Got it from Very and got 3yr no-Q's- asked guarantee replacements service..

Actually the pro 300 is better than the 500 as it has the newer motor. Also shorter fatter container so can fit under kitchen counter. Only downside is loss of presets but at £80 less I can live with that and spend that on the 0.9L container. Shame JL doesn't do the pro 300 to price match. Think I'll head to lakeland to see them up close.

Thanks. I'm not sure the presets are all that necessary. Costco online has the TNC with free mini dry container for £450. That's also an option

I had the Aspire and then upgraded to the Pro 300. Both fantastic machines but I think the 300 is only marginally quieter, not 40% like stated.

The one problem i've found with the 300 is that because it has the wider, more squat jug, it is not so good when making a smoothie for just one person as the contents tend to get stuck unblended in the corners. I shall be buying the smaller 0.9l jug but thats another expense to add in.

Shirl was it worth upgrading to the 300? What was the main benefit? I'm very close to getting the 300

I upgraded because these things are incredibly loud and the promise of 40% noise reduction was very tempting to me! Also, these have the new motor and are a new design shape. As I intend it to last me a good ten years then I think its best to have the most up to date model now, and the 300 has a pulse feature that I like.

I think that performance wise, they are the same, except for the wider bottom on the 300 not processing small amounts as effectively.

As for presets, I consider myself to be a very capable cook and I will always play around with recipes etc. I do the same with the Vitamix. I have no interest in setting it and walking away, I am hands on and will select a speed that I think is right for the ingredients. Presets would just clutter up the machine for me :)

Thanks, I ordered the 300 as it has a larger capacity as well as 7 years guarantee. Glad I didn't go for the 500. Can't wait now to receive it!

I'm sure you will be thrilled with the 300. I will probably order the smaller jug for mine shortly so it can make one person smoothies. I love the machine!

ETA You must try making your own coconut milk, so delicious in curry's or just to add to smoothies!

I ordered the 300 yesterday, I think the only one better than that is the 750 but that is £250 extra just for added presets! I am gonna need to get the 0.9L container as well but that's another £115 :( I wish they did an s30 style travel container for the larger vitamix, maybe something they will add at a later date.

As you say, its an extra £250 just for presets. If both machines were the same price I would still go for the 300 as there is less to go wrong with it when you don't have to worry about extra added stuff. Its the same motor ect.

Ooh how do you make coconut milk Shirl?

I've done it two ways. One that I use for curries is unsweetened dessicated coconut or coconut chips and water. Just whizz it up for about a minute and its fab. Obviously its not going to be as thick as what you get in tins because that has things added to it.

Or you can get a fresh coconut and take out the flesh, add that to the Vitamix with the coconut water that you reserved when you broke the shell and whizz it up. This one I prefer fresh in smoothies.

Bet you can't wait now :)

I wish they had the Pro 750 :'(. Been waiting for a Vitamix deal for ages.
Still a hot deal though.

I wish the same but I may settle for the pro 300 after cancelling the pro 500. £250 extra for 5 presets and a stainless steel finish only isn't really worth it as the machine is identical otherwise :(

How often do they have a 20% off on the Vitamix machines? I'd like one

I've only ever seen it this once, however they do have special offers that change every month.
