probably not a glitch. um guessing their sales are on the decline due to the tumble dryer scandal.

I've got my cynical head on today and I think all these 'glitches' are the new selling techniques. They've replaced discount codes. ;)

Thank you!

worked for me - Russell Hobbs Chest Freezer - was £150 - £120 after discount - thanks OP :)

20% off should not be enough for anyone to buy from the hotpoint family, as someone frequently says on here "why pay that amount for landfill"
#7
just ordered got 20% off tumble dryer
#8
has to be sold by tesco

Excellent, needed a freezer anyway thankyou OP! Hope order doesn't get cancelled for using the code on something that it wasn't meant for.

Absolutely right. These aren't glitches - they're just cynical marketing ploys aimed at creating impulse purchases by people thinking they've somehow got one over the retailer. Clever - and it works.

I certainly do, I used to be a white goods salesman.

Maybe it's a Turkish made quality item then - who cares? I guess you think your BMW/Audi/Merc/VW, etc was made in Germany - maybe it was but quite possibly it wasn't and it probably isn't a 'quality' item anyway.

Bosch doesn't have to be made in Germany to be a quality item - it's still going to be a lot better than a Hotpoint, wherever it's made!

Thanks OP, worked on another brand and saved me £86!

So is this dishwasher worth a punt or best to avoid? Need a dishwasher but not sure if it's worth paying a bit more?

Tesco at least give you guarantee of always honouring warranty period

It definitely won't burn down like they said on watchdog.

Has a number of decent reviews, but you're looking at the budget end of dishwashers so don't expect the moon on a stick.

I noticed that they're also offering free recycling of your old one for free on Hotpoint and Indesit models so that'll save an extra 15 quid - which seems to be the standard fee for most retailers

I worked for Tesco marketing and it's just another marketing term. It's no glitch, sales of white goods are on the decline and space in the warehouses is at a premium so we discount to move the stock. Perceived value for the end customer.

Not a gimmick
Makes items a lot cheaper than competitors
Ive asked John Lewis to price match a dishwasher
#33
its a good dishwasher i have one the top tray lifts up to make room for bigger plates below.. i got mine for 130 as currys had it on offer i have a auntie who works thier got thier discount plus my lasses company discount on top so an offer on top of discount on top of discount yeah!!!
#34
Has anyone been contacted about delivery of their order?
#35
After a dishwasher as we speak, our's ended it's short life yesterday. 'Bush' crap by the way. Can whoever got the Bosch for £180 post the link please? T%hanks
#36
Thanks OP - ordered a Freezer!

Our dishwasher has just expired, so yesterday I researched and found an Indesit at £239. 20% off - worked. Free disposal of appliance - worked. BUT - I wanted to make sure that the old one was beyond redemption before committing to a new appliance.

So today I came back to Tesco - dishwasher was still in the basket, but they "didn't have sufficient appliance disposals" to fulfil my order, so that was removed. Also - although the code was still in there, it was no longer applied.
So no 20% off and no free appliance disposal. Bottoms.
Great post, though....if I'd only bought yesterday....

***Correction*** - I removed the discount code and then started it again. This time the discount code did, again, work...but still no free appliance disposal, for some reason. I can cope with that, for £47.80 off!
