Seats are available on off-peak services, with limited availability on Friday and Sunday afternoons. There will also be limited availability when major events are taking place.

You must book the day before outward travel. Seats are subject to availability, so please book early to avoid disappointment. At these great prices we are expecting the biggest demand for travel at weekends—if you can travel mid-week you will have more choice.

If you require space for a wheelchair or have access requirements during your journey, please call our dedicated Assisted Travel Team on 08457 225 225 before you book »

To give you greater choice and flexibility, tickets are sold as single fares, allowing you to choose the lowest available prices for every stage of your journey. For example, you can select the promotional fare on the outward journey and, if the return train of your choice is unavailable, you can select the best fare shown. This mix-and-match option will give you even more opportunities to travel at a great price.

Major credit, debit and charge cards are accepted as payment. No booking fee with GNER.

Click here for a step-by-step guide to how to book this great offer. Remember, these fares are sold as single fares.

Offer is in Standard Class only. No upgrades to First Class will be allowed.

What are the terms and conditions?

We believe these tickets offer excellent value for money. In order to provide attractively priced fares, we have to attach a small number of conditions in addition to those in the National Rail Conditions of Carriage booklet (available at stations and rail-appointed Travel Agents).

It is essential that you read these terms and conditions carefully, as you will be charged the full open fare if you haven't purchased the correct ticket for your journey.

Web Discounted Fares:
Online discounted fares are only available when accessed via www.gner.co.uk,
Your ticket is only valid for the date, GNER train(s) and reserved seat(s) shown on your ticket(s), plus those of appropriate connecting Train Companies.

Changes to travel plans:
These are permitted up until the time of departure of the first reserved train shown on your ticket(s). After this time, your ticket has no value and a new ticket must be purchased.

Changes to tickets cannot be made on-train. A new ticket must be purchased if you board a GNER train without a ticket and reservation for that service.

Changes to a Standard/First Advance ticket can be made online via the Web Support team, including upgrades to First Class. Changes to tickets can also be made at most staffed stations. A change is allowed provided the origin and destination are the same and travel is still by GNER for all or part of the journey. Changes can be brought forward by any number of weeks, or put back as far ahead as the reservation system is open (normally around 10 weeks).

For each change that you make, you may have to pay an additional charge, up to the appropriate fare for your new journey, plus a change fee of £10 per single ticket. If you change onto a train where a cheaper fare is available, the difference will not be refunded. Please remember that you will need to present your ticket(s) and reservation(s) when you request your change.

You must travel with GNER for the main part of your journey. Your ticket cannot be changed to travel on any other Train Company's services for this part of the journey. You may not break and resume your journey at an intermediate station except to change to/from appropriate connecting trains where these are shown on your ticket(s) or other official itinerary.

Your ticket is non-refundable, should you decide not to use it. If the GNER train on which you are reserved is cancelled or delayed by more than 60 minutes, special arrangements will be made to accommodate you on another train (although a seat cannot be guaranteed), or to refund your ticket provided your journey has not yet commenced.

GNER First Advance tickets do not entitle access to GNER First Class Lounges at stations.
