ghatchghatch

As described in title, seems to be a couple of bargains to be had. I just bought a dual core hp netbook for my daughter and with the discount came in at under £150 down from £180.

I had originally been considering this hotukdeal http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-mini-100e-netbook-n455-with-two-year-guarantee-marks-spencer-179-when-add-basket-1025962

This does not include apple products.

You might want to re-word your title as it is not ALL refurbished laptops.

    Still hot from me.

Clearly its all refurbished laptops that Dixons SELL :)..............................Chelsea fan indeed!

Good luck OP my first experience was a great Dell laptop but two further experiences complete nightmare - could not even supply correct lead and then dealing with customer services : oh dear!

good deal, but bear in mind: i bought a HP laptop, arrived loosely packaged in a cardboard box (as in, stuff rattling inside. NOT THE ORIGINAL BOX), came with a completely dead battery. having to deal with dixons customer service is like blood from a stone, its with them for repair now.

my missus got a dell, said 4gb ram, came and only had 2gb, she rang them up and they sent her a 2gb stick of ram, i opened it up to pop in a 4gb was allready in there lol!

they guys who had done the refurbing had stuck it in properly

free 2gb ram anyway.. might come in handy

Very low specs for the money throughout, even with the 20% off, IMO.

These DSG refurb deals seem to reveal all sorts of horrors. I wouldn't take the risk of the hassle and disappointment.

Ditto I wouldn't touch their refurbs...5 weeks and still waiting for my refund.

Well I was getting worried by some of your posts, but............... netbook arrived very next day in beautiful condition (generic box though) and spec as described. So far so good.

I don't quite get it & I know that I am going to get slaughtered for saying this.
20% off the new price for a second hand (used) laptop. I realise that you still get the 12 month warranty, but the laptop will have been returned because it broke and has been fixed by the Dixons/PC World monkeys.

Think he means hadn't stuck it in properly. Ram was there, but wasn't being seen by system as it wasn't correctly inserted. Hence got free stick of ram due to DSG's incompetence.:)

Actually, I suspect DSG's refurbishment guys' expertise is limited to seeing if it switches on and putting it in a box for dispatching. Ram probably came unseated in transit. Never met any DSG employee who had the first idea about anything!

Are the prices listed already 20% off ? Please tell me they aren't :/

Ordered one for my mum on the last offer. Arrived perfect, still with protective film. A complete bargin.

    BUT
I checked out the HP3100 on their site yesterday, and now the 20% off has come on-line, the base price is much hgher. I think it's listed about £50 more than yesterday.

yeah dixons have pushed up the price of laptops, so they arent as cheap as they use to be. not so hot any more.

I'm not particularly a Currys/Pc World fan but i have had two refurbs from them in the past and both arrived in a1 mint condition and i would just point out.
    1) Buying any refurb is taking a calculated risk - risk versus reward - as with many things in life.
    2) Their laptop/netbook fleabay outlet offers are mostly refurbs and the overall feedback rating is 99.3% positive.
    3) Looking at the negative ratings, only a few are about refurbed laptop/netbooks, although clearly the odd duffer does get through.
    4) I do have total sympathy for anyone who does receive a duffer, but may i suggest that perhaps these people who are unhappy and often angry, do tend to grab a disproportionate amount of attention in forums like these.
    5) Amongst the mediocre dross that Currys/PC World sell, the odd pearl appears in refurb form at a bargain price. These are the deals worth considering. Choose carefully and there are bargains to be had. If you receive it in an unacceptable condition, you have seven days to send it back.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. One of the best forum posts that I have seen for a long time. I totally agree.

To add to topazz's remarks, recently purchased a one year old Macbook Pro from the ebay Currys/ PC World outlet store for £468.17. An absolute steal and like new. Not in original packaging but really nicely packed. And couldn't get it on here as they sold out within a couple of minutes.
Looking at buying a friend a machine today on this deal, and hoping we get lucky again! Thanks for the heads up

Wait so a 4 gig stick of ram wasn't pushed in properly so it appeared like a 2 gig stick of ram?
    shizer
Doesn't work :( I add the laptop to the basket and go to the delivery options and no price change.
