I've got a Technika full 1080p TV. Picture quality is good. Downsides poor EPG and very cheap remote the numbers are unreadable after less than a year.
#2
I noticed a technika 40 or 42" ( cant quite remember but was big screen full hd as i thought it was a good price) instore yesterday for £350, so are they going to put it back up to £599 before they knock 20% off lol
#3
You are confusing LCD with LED! £349 for LCD and £599 for LED
#4
That will bring the 42" Technika he was talking about down to just under £275 which is a monster bargain, not bad for a TV that was supposedly on sale at £549 originally. Then take off the 550 or so club card points which makes it £269.50. Possible Topcashback/Quidco too? http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-9998.aspx

It's not coming up with 20% off online! :(
#6
Yeah I'm thinking the same thing sarahobrien. Hey OP where did you find out about the 20% off deal?
#7
i came on this morn hoping to see these discounts as we're looking for another tv but no mention of 20% off??
#8
Prices have changed now. Just a shame theres not loads on the website
#9
The one TV we've spoken about and it's the only Technika they haven't included in the 20% off promotion... typical! So much for all Technika's being 20% off.
#10
i ended up ordering the 32" at £199, would have gone for the 42 if had of been on offer but the reviews are good on this and its only for a barely used conservatory!
#11
I would have got the 42" inch one too, am going to sit tight and wait for something else to come along.
#12
Just ordered the 32'' for £199. I couldn't decide whether to do for full HD over HD Ready, but didn't really want to shell out any more. Its says its USB compatible so I'm assuming it will be able to play all my files through it
#13
check website on wednesday. I assure you LED is going down to £479.20 and no the 42" LCD on offer at £350 is not going down further.
#14
tidy bought one for my daughter today bought the 23 inch model with built in DVD and USB record... top buy at £176 comes with a 4gb USB sitck which will record 2.5 hours of program.... also comes with a variety of coloured bezels... I chose the silver as though the other coloured bezels may be distracting...
#15
Seems like a good discount. Starting price around 10% higher than the price before xmas, but still makes a good price for a good tv. I have the 22" with USB & DVD and it works really well. The USB interface is a bonus as it plays almost any XVID/DIVX I've tried so far. Note: Some models have USB record and others only have playback. That models that record don't seem to support XVID/DIVX.

Voted hot. They may well not be the best, but for those of us on a budget this means a lot of TV for the money.

this morning i bought the 24" LED with DVD / USB recording.....these are the same price as the LCD's....Why would anyone buy an LCD over an LED for the same spec and price as ppl have above.... The LED's have a single sheet of glass on the screen so no bezel...makes them look cool...like the new Sony ones...

There rated "Don't Buy" in Which magazine.

I've fitted one of these recently for someone, and I can tell you, compared to my Panny, the pictures pretty ropey.
But, there you go, horses for courseys.

I have three Technika TVs. Two 19" for my daughters rooms and a 32" in our front room, have had them for years, really good TVs. Never had an issue with them. The 42" if it came up for that price, an upgraded would have been purchased :-)

I agree - I've had a 32" for years with no problems and I've just purchased the 32" with Freeview and DVD Player - picture and sound are excellent.

You should know with these TV's
* When you first turn on the TV it takes atleast 10 seconds to come on
* When you first turn on the TV it screams at full volume at you
* It takes quite a few seconds to register when flicking between channels
If these issues dont bother you then go for it, if you are undecided go to a store and have a demo I wish I had. but no getting away from them being a good price as listed if you dont mind the above

We bought this make for the kids last year ....one of them dropped the remote from the top bunk, rang up tesco who were unable to obtain a spare remote for us to purchase. We then rang up Technika direct who couldnt help either as Tesco havent asked them to make spares!!!!!!!! Absolute nightmare so no remote to be had apart from that fine for the kids room!

You can buy all-in-one remotes that work on most TVs for £6-£10, probably even cheaper on ebay.

None of the above happen with the model I have. A little slow changing channels but only slightly slower than my sky+ box.
