I'm surprised that this deal hasn't got more heat because essentially it's the same as this deal, except the one I've posted has ALL the lenses listed in one place :-

CANON EF 50 mm f/1.8 II Standard Lens £59.80 @ Currys

looks like you can get the Canon 40mm pancake lens for just over £90. That's really amazing! I just got it for £122 from amazon and thought that was good. Superb lens!

Reason being most people do not understand value for money. Only "cheap" speaks to them. The best lens on here is the most expensive (70-200 2. 8) which even after discount is over a grand, but "paying twice the amount I paid for my camera, just for a lens? You must be nuts!"

The 'nifty fifty' is the HUKD camera deal equivalent of a Moto G or Orange San Francisco. Guaranteed heat.

Lazy Deal - just seen the other lens deal get heat so copy and pasted every canon lens! How about find another store with discount and list every product included in that deal also?

The 85mm hasn't been in stock since the deal went live which is a shame

But its useful to see all the lens in the deal listed.......

Unbelievably tempted by the EF-S 10-22 mm f/3.5-4.5 Wide-Angle Zoom - works out at just under £315.

Use Canon 600D, main focus is landscapes.

Any thoughts?

Talk about being grateful.... Sorry, but that's rather unfair. It's true that I saw the nifty fifty lens deal, but no one had mentioned then that there was a 20% discount for most of Canon lenses and I only got to find out once I went on currys website. I thought rather than post one lens deal at a time like some people have, it would be easier for others if it was all under one deal. Lets not forget that not everyone wants the same lens as some may already own the nifty fifty.

Don't go blindly in, some lenses can be found cheaper elsewhere even after the discount and cashback applied.
#17
Would O2 priority discount work alongside this offer ?
£10 off £100 spend
£30 off £300 spend
£50 off £500 spend .....has to be purchased instore though

FWIW the 40mm pancake is currently £110 at Argos Outlet (Ebay) before Canon refund £25, so £85

Thanks for pointing that out brilly, but I never saw that and as you can imagine, not everyone is going to read every post in a thread. My intention of posting this deal was to make life easier for everyone to find their choice of lenses in one thread.

This lens would be more useful for urban shots where you need more angle width but can't step back.

Can you get the cashback on that? eBay isn't listed as an 'Authorised e-tailer' on the Canon website. I'd be very pleased indeed if I could get the 40mm STM for £85. Nearly got one from Currys, but they haven't got any!

I was looking at this lens too, ideally for interior shots / architecture shots. How does it compare to the 10-18mm Canon EF-S (half the price), which i think was produced to replace the 10-22mm?

Thanks

Have to disagree , been as he is using a crop camera , I would say its perfect for landscapes

I'm so tempted to spend another few hundred quid on something I'll probably hardly use ! I have 17-85 and 70-300 covered not sure need anything else . I may want them but I don't NEED them ,
#26
Profit margins are very small on lenses, Currys will be selling these at a loss, how do I know? I asked fixation to match a price when they had 10% off all lenses a month ago and they couldn't.
#27
Ok guys, question!

For landscapes, this at £315 or the Samyang 14mm f2.8 at £225 ?

Thanks in advance!
#28
Dammit! Was after the 18-135 but it's OOS. :(

10-22mm is a great lens but I bought mine second hand for about £290...just after buying the Sigma 70-200 f2.8!

You really don't have to justify yourself to that miserable ****. You've obviously put time and effort in to listing the lenses to save other people some time and other people do appreciate it even if he doesn't - if he doesn't like it then no need to comment really... pretty simple.

glass keeps its value and makes your camera more creative, it's not nuts at all. Using a camera with slow lenses is nuts!

EDIT: Sorry - just seen he is using a cropper.... (still hungover :p) in which case - PERFECT..

There just certain people/comments on here that are plain ungrateful.
Also those that wont believe a deal unless they've seen a photo of the receipt - and even then they wont be happy.
Then there's those who think the 'nifty fifty' is the ultimate in bargain lens's - so you can save £20 on it in this deal - ok fine, but you can also save many hundreds other lens's posted in your deal - {which have never been this low previously} - Great.

Happy Christmas

Thanks restyler. I don't mind constructive feedback, but like you said some people are simply being nasty in which case I should learn to rise above it. Other than the nifty fifty lens what other lens in lower price bracket do you think is a bargain?

... Other than the nifty fifty lens what other lens in lower price bracket do you think is a bargain?
Tricky question to answer without knowing what you've got already, what you're camera is, & what you like taking photo's of.
For instance I do quite a bit of macro, and have used the 60mm macro lens at least once a month since I bought it 7 years ago, & its still around the same price now as it was then at around £350. Using this deal & cashback I could get it it for around £235 !!!
But you might never do macro so in that case it would be a waste of money, ... just an example.
{must mention that the 60mm is also great for studio portraits as well}

Have a look here and compare the lens price history graphs for some ideas of proper savings >>http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Canon/Canon-Lenses

Stupid question, but do you have to wait a certain time before applying for your cashback from Canon? I know when I bought my Macbook last year I had to give it about a month before applying. Or do you just need to wait to find out your product serial number?
