Had I known they were gonna fall below £100 I wouldnt have sold the last one at my store last week
#3
Very limited stock.
#4
does this use a va panel as the model number suggests?
#5
it's a DSG item
price ends in 97p.
this will be more rare than rocking horse droppings.
#6
Currently showing in stock at Blackpool, Barrow In Furness and Liverpool.

Wrong. If it ends in 97p then it's end of line or clearance... It does not mean it's a DSG specific product!

No, the point Flipd was making was just that anything sold by DSG (not necessarily their own products) with a .97 at the end of the price is rarely in stock. People get rightly annoyed when this company keeps on their sites amazing deals which no-one can buy since there's no stock. For example, the sub-£100 laptop at Currys:

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@2002031939.1209059733@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccfjadedllfmjfgcflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&page=Product&fm=1&sm=0&tm=4&sku=155367&category_oid=-27411

Are these any good? Stock in my local :)

Sunderland and Torquay are showing as having 1 laptop each worth a try
banned#12
in stock at Chelmsford, Blackpool currently

this is definitely a hot deal for whoever manages to get one. 20" for £99 is a good deal, back in the days 17" tft monitors were about £170 cheapest and the specs were low.

Don't you love it when people declare "Wrong" so emphatically and then are shown to be wrong themselves? :-D

clarification, PC WORLD issues a PLA, or Price Level Adjustment 3 times a week on their intranet. This tells the price adjusters in store what to put up and down etc.

if things turn to 97p this usually means that there is very limited stock in all the stores, on average. Therefore the chances of you getting one of these at a good price before the staff pinch them, are slim. Because these are viewsonic also, they are bundled with alot of the PC's on display, meaning the store will show a certain amount on their stock file, but they wont sell them!!

If you travel down with a collect at store and they refuse sale, speak to a manager and ask for your petrol money.

What I dont understand is, DSG employees have access to the PLA, they should be posting ALL the price reductions, because there are hundreds of good deals.

A year or so ago when I worked there, we got laptops for £100, pc's for £30. Its all about what is reduced!

I would imagine that stands for Viewsonic, Analogue rather than vertical alignment.
#17
No stock - stone cold.
#18
Its pc world.....which means that when they say its in stock for store collection it isnt....well in my experience anyway........
#19
None in Inverness, Perth or Aberdeen but always worth a shot...

think this has been covered, but to add my own experience:
above quotation is incorrect interpretation. correct interpretation being:
"DSG item" = sold by Dixons Store Group, not branded or unique to Dixons Store Group.
i.e.
if DSG are selling it and the price ends in 97p, there will be near-zero stock.
good luck to anyone who manages to reserve one.
even greater luck to anyone that manages to convert that reservation into an underarm-walk-out-of-retrailer-with-it success.
HUKD is littered with similar non-deals.
this evening yet another nil-stock DSG ending-97p example

This sort of price is standard at Ebuyer. Funnily, on Monday I bought a nice 19" flatscreen monitor from Hannspree, with built in speakers for this price. They also do a 20" without the speakers. Order at 11am Monday, delivered at 8:20 the next day for a tenner. If you can wait 5 days, delivery is free.

It also comes with 3 year warrenty. The reason why I'm buying it is the Xerox I bought 15 months ago from PCWorld has blown, and they only do 12 month guarentee then rip off extended warrenty!

188 degrees and no stock - now that's clever voting.

It doesnt get reduced that low any more. Even reduced stuff is overpriced now. the days of ridiculous price cuts on clearance stuff has gone.

Why have this attitude? My local store has two of these for collection at store (Barrow)

Voted hot

I say again if thewebsite says its in stock in a local store it almost certainly wont be. The last two items I tried to get from pcworld this was the case the last one being a monitor. I reservered it went down to pick it up and they had me waiting half a hour only to be told they didnt have one even though the system was showing it as in stock.

I just wont deal with dsg any more personally however cheap the deal...
#28
no stock either online or in my area therefore voted cold

My friend that works their recently got a 32" LG LCD TV for £80. There are definately still big bargains.

Unless you are a manager, or a very lucky staff member, you are never going to see these ultra cheap items.
#31
If anyone is near the Chelmsford branch it is still available there- it's nowhere near me just found it trying to see where they had stock

also available at Taunton branch

Edit: Ok comprehensively searched the whole of the UK using PC World's stock finder and it seems the above mentioned stores are the only ones in UK with stock left. Might have missed a few smaller towns but checked all major towns/regions and nothing. Anyway good luck if you live near either branch mentioned
#32
smacking deal
#33
FYI IIRC these are DSG pricing rules:

.99 New stock
.98 Sale stock
.97 Managers specials (usually end of line, very limited stock)

Think about it, that tv wasnt just dropped from £400 to £80 though, it will have gone through a number of price reductions to get that low. In which case, all things being fair, it would have been bought long before then. Someone probably hid it in the warehouse until it reached such a low price. Either that or it was one of the units in store that displays information.
#35
Certainly none in NI anyway.

don't waste your time on the non-existent PC Turld stock.
Buy the 20" LCD from Dabs at under £100 delivered (before 28 April):

Got mine from Weston-super-mare this morning and they had another six lined up on the shelf for collection. Very stylish and great value for money.
