Agreed. Just doing some googling and i can find that the console itself is going up by around £20. But that is because it costs so much to make, with the exchange rates etc... But there is no mention of the wii points going up.

Have found that they are now supposed to be call "nintendo points" though, as the DSi is going to be using them also.

And they should soon also be available in 1000's, 2000's and 3000's

It really isn't hard to find...

so we are to trawl around internet retailers for preorder prices to get official information about rrps now?
i dont call that easy.

I guess if its true then all prices in the wii shop are going to half then as noone is going to pay effectively double for a wiiware game now.
Has it been confirmed that wiipoints can be used on dsi or is that only an assumption based on the fact that nintendo points can be used on either?
i have seen it said that you can use wii points but also that you cant use wiipoints.
not sure if they are being confused that you cant use registered wiipoints or if its info from japanese market/nintendo themselves.

have also seen that dsiware games costing x and scaling with a rrp of 15quid per 2000 the same as wiipoints or perhaps using wiipoints - much conflicting and unclear info out there.
But at least amazon is gospel.

Nintendo points are replacing Wii points, but the only difference is the name and the increased price. It really isn't complicated - buy cheap now or pay more later.

As i have said there are conflicting stories .. whats your source? it may well be true but you haven't given any real reliable info.
As for the rrp going up - again that may be true but i dont think that just because amazon has a preorder page with a rrp doesn't necessarily mean its true.
If the rrp does go up without the retailers discounting to very close to current levels then wiiware may die due to ridiculous costs.
if there is a true rrp change then they are conciously ramping the price of wiipoints instead of the more sensible scaling of cost of dsiware products or setting wiipoints from nintendo points ratio at 2:1 or so.
