Good deal as ovivomobile use the Vodafone network. Pay a one of £5 and receive a fivers credit. They then top up your minutes etc every month. Only need to top up if you do chargeable calls.

I've been using it for two months now between me and my wife and we get free calls to each other also.

When I connect on my iPhone using there sim which I cut to size I have to view an advert but then browse as normal.
Not bad for a one off cost of a fiver

In answer to questions on here ie are they trustworthy I have been using them for three months now with no issues.

There is one sim for android and iPad's and that's the same price for 1gb Internet a month.

The adverts do not come via wifi just 3G

You can not add to the minutes it's not giffgaff, however calls between ovivomobile users are free in the uk. I use the viber application available on iPhone app store or google store and contact friends through that to text and call to save my minutes

I have only topped up once and this has been trouble free

All credit to Cambrion for posting this originally. This deal is so good needs to be put on top every month to show new users what's good rather than the usual bluray deals

I was all fr this till I read the old thread with all the stuff about selling on all our information. I don't mind ads as on alot of apps but this seems like a recipe for disaster.
#14
You only get ads on the browser. Twitter, Facebook apps etc are completely unaffected. And the ads are very minimal.
#15
Used them for the last couple of months and can't fault them.Great customer service as well.

Don't forget to "Invite" them through Ovivo's Facebook app, then you'll get a Reward credit that can be exchanged for £5 credit :-)

Also, when they're filling out their SIM online order form, tell them to put your name and Ovivo number in the relevent section and you'll get an additional £2.50.

If they port their number over from another SIM once their Ovivo SIM is activated, they'll get £5 credit for said porting as well as a £5 SIM activation credit :-)

I'm a very happy Ovivo customer, a fanboy you might say 8)

Am i reading it right that you put £5 credit on there and you get 200m, 200t, 512mb every month?
you dont need to top up at all unless you use the credit?

only one payment and u will get 200 min text and internet every month
#24
I am a little confused, do you just top up a one off £5 and get 200minutes and 200 texts and 512mb of data every month? For how many months do they keep topping you up for free? 12 months?
#25
Yes, excellent service...been with them for 3 months, and still have my £5 credit....
#26
Tempted but worried about what they do with your personal data, especially with third party companies.

Not sure the invasion of privacy and years of phone/email/post spam is worth the few quid saved.

You pay £5 for the SIM and when you activate the SIM, £5 is credited to your account and you get 200m, 200t, 512mb every month. If you go over 200m, 200t, 512mb in one month, you start eating into you credit at 6ppm/6ppt/6ppMb. You cannot go overdrawn and if you are starting the reach the end of your credit, Ovivo will send you a text reminding you it might be a good idea to top up your credit. On the anniversary of you activating your SIM, your allowance is reset to 200m, 200t, 512mb regardless of how many m/t/Mb you have left - your credit rolls over. If you do not use your account or 12 months, your account is deactivated. To answer your last point, correct, you do not need to top up your credit.

I think this deal is ideal for those who use less than 200m, 200t, 512mb per month; who have a smartphone (with internet access); who don't mind seeing an advert ever so often when surfing the net on their smart phone. Ovivo say you will be shown an advert (that you can simply "Skip" every 2Mb you surf. If you like excellent Customer Service, or want to experience what customer from a mobile operator should be like, I would similarly recommend them.

Good deal

can this be used in a non smartphone?

The only personal information a company can hold is the personal information you give them, ergo, give the minimum personal information you need too. Laterally think what this "need" is.

I would recommend setting up a separate Facebook account (to your main Facebook account) linked to nothing, with no personal information on it. I would recommend ordering the SIM from a prepaid credit card and having it delivered to your work address. If you did all that, what personal info do they, or indeed any other company you do this with, have? 8)

No, that would be breaching the terms and conditions (look for yourself on their website)
#32
great deal, the frequency of the adverts does concern me though

Yes and no. Yes it does (or did in mine, before bought my super excellent Samsung Galaxy S3), but Ovivo reserve the right to halt the service to non-smart phones if they find out you have a non-smart phone. They make their money out of the adverts, ergo, your phone has to be able to get in the internet so they can show you the adverts. So, it is possible, but not advised.

Already been posted and that post is still active would have thought OP would have noticed that.

Frankly, I use apps more than the browser on my Ovivo SIM'd up smartphone, and you only see the ads when using Internet Explorer afaik. I feel a bit guilty sometimes, so do a bit of surfing so I can trigger an advert and keep Ovivo sweet and me guilt free X)
#36
how do the ads pop up? is it just a web page redirect?
#37
very tempting but do i really need a third number..?

Any cashback..? :)
#38

Yup, webpage redirect with a nice "Skip this" button that takes you back to where you where. I find it very unintrusive.
#39
Someone earlier said you get a new allowance every "anniversary". Maybe I'm pedantic, but to be clear, it's every MONTH.
#40
now im interested! my contract isnt up until october, but my wifes is i think!
my only concern now would be that the company dissapears eventually and i lose a number i port over
