Delivery was about £8 I think and it will come by courrier next day. Gear4Music are a large music disribution firm located in York. I have used many times before for guitars, amps, accessories etc and I rate them 9/10 as they are not so good at negotiating but at this price, you can't complain!

Yeah, size is an issue - not many people could say "I have these set up as a 7.1 channel surround sound system in my living room"! Great for parties etc though!

Dont but if you dont know what this is. Most people would be far better off with an active speaker which has everything built in which can be bought for very similar price, but far eaier to store and move. Check out studiospares.com for an example of such a system. http://studiospares.com/pd_248240_STU%20Fortissimo%2010a%20Active.htm ad ofcourse always rember, you get what you pay for...

Ok, let me do something I don't normally do and argue with that. Active speaker systems are never as good as you have to walk over to the speakers to adjust them all the time, they are heavier, only REALLY expensive active systems have a decent amount of power and even then they never sound as good as the boxes arent as acoustically sound as passive speakers.

Second, I'd like to see 2 active speakers at 100W each for a similar price (of a decent quality)

Third... you get more than what you pay for if you read my description. Comparing these to my JBL PA system, they aren't as loud and don't reproduce the sound in all ranges as well but for the price they are unbeatable. I would say that they are of a similar quality to Korg or Peavy systems.

Don't mock them untill you have heard them is a famous brand saying (can't remember which one) but seriously, these speakers can not be beaten for the price.

wadders: do you own these speakers? From your description it sounded as if you'd just ordered, hence my observations and advice.

I personally think that for a small venue where 200 watt is sufficient the best "all around" option (mobility etc.) is a active speaker. As you mentioned at this price no system will poduce Mackie or JBL sounds, so its clearly aimed at the oppertunistitic budget buyer - and for them I think 1 active speaker is a better buy.

Having said that, you clearly make a valid point, so I would suppose its down to personal hoice and circumstances (veichle size etc.)

Yes I do. Why have 1 Active speaker in Mono when you can have 2 Passive - more powerful speakers in Stereo? You get a much nicer sound and you can distribute the sound around the room properly.

By the way sorry it took me so long to reply, I have been pretty busy! I'm very impressed for the price though! Id give them 9/10 (1 lost because I like my bass and when they are cranked up the bass isn't as strong)
