Absolutely, I was stunned watching this on my relatively modest setup. The Yellowstone park eruption was one of the best sequences of CGI I've seen.

I can certainly recommend this for anyone with a HD projector & HD Digital Surround system.

Oh.... WOW...... High definition trash ......

Just what I didn’t want.

Awful film, script, acting, everything…… IMHO of course.

You could look at it as people who have been unlucky enough to see the film warning you against it to save you money.
I've seen it, and it was quite bad. I'm sure some people will love it, it's all subjective, but I didn't. At best I'd say it's worth watching once - so if you have a LoveFilm or NetFlix subscription, rent it, but if you spend £6.99 on it you might regret it.

As i've said before, in the right frame of mind this film is hilariously brilliant due its awfulness.
#12
It's almost so bad it's good and it does look great on BluRay.

So neither of you has seen 'Battlefield Earth'?

i went to see this in the cinema thinking it was about to become one of my all time fave blockbusters!!
turned out to be one of my all time worst!! it's no good having amazing special effects and absoluetely nothing else! i'm sure it would be an awesome home cinema demo impress your mates disc, but there's plenty of great movies you could do that with.
#15
story was a joke, and the effects TOO MUCH over the top to be taken seriously
#16
one of the worst films ive ever seen. be warned!

So posting a crap movie will get people saying that its a crap movie. Wow, you need to get a brain if you can't see the link there. If most people thought about what they said before spouting it, they might appear less retarded.

Thanks OP - ordered.

Classic scene, where they drive the sports cars off the back of plane on to a snowy mountain, then some helicopters fly past carrying large zoo animals!

Genius......

Lol! I actually liked the film. As another poster says, each to their own, its all subjective. Excellent price, therefore heat added :)

Thought this was hilarious...it wasn't trying to be, but got to take what you can! Stupid storyline, stupid characters, but has its moments, might have been more from the jokes we put in ourselves, but ripe for laughing at not with.

we thought it was great as well. Obv can take it seriously, but thought the special affects were good on the whole and showed off my new telly and blu ray player nicely
#29
it had the potential to be great but special effects were over the top.the director has a history of such films.(10,000 BC/the day after tomorrow/independence day/godzilla..) all were interesting in many ways but turn out bad.
still if it was £5 I would buy it.
ps it's kinda disturbing but it seems it is actually happening!

Wow, so eloquently put. Using 'crap' twice in one short sentence really raises the intellectual bar.
And calling me a retard really doesn't help your corner.

You are of course entitled to your views and opinions as am I, so I will clarify my original post (without resorting to personal attacks)

My point was that whenever a deal is posted for this film, the reply posts invariably relate to whether they rate the film or not. I personally think we should be commenting on the deal itself.
This is the cheapest this film has been on blu-ray, like it or not, and the heat would bear that out.

Unless it's The Goonies, Taken or Labyrinth you're in deep water :p

... Good to know that HUKD members have similarly good taste though.

great for blu ray format, I don't care about storyline, this is about display quality in high definition

Nah, I wouldn't include Skyline in the list purely because of the low budget and comparitively tiny team that actually made the movie. It was essentially an independent production, and they did pretty well with with a total budget of around $10m (most big movies will pay that for the leading cast member alone).
Compare that to the likes of '2012', which cost $200m to make (although Battlefield Earth only cost $44m and I'm guessing a large chunk of that was Travolta's fee, but there was still no excuse for how bad that turned out).

You can't compare that with a huge Hollywood produced blockbuster with big stars and big budgets that then turn out to be awful.
If you were to include independent movies in the list of worst films ever made, there would be hundreds worse than the ones we've mentioned.
