Seems a good price. Bit annoyingly cheap of them not to include a 105 chainset at the least when it really can't be costing them much in bulk or even going the whole hog!

White bar tape is never a good idea for any bike.

Apart from that pretty good deal and ideal for a beginner!

Just came across this bike
It is quite exciting, but surely not that much ...

The RS500 against isn't *that* much heavier than a 105 but it much cheaper for you the rider to replace the chainrings when they wear out. The RS500 uses standard 5 bolt 110bcd rings. The 105 uses Shimano-only 4 bolt 110 rings so you have to buy their replacements.

Back to the deal....nice bike, agree on white bar tape! :D

Can you fit stabilisers to it then ? (_;)

More than £600 for a pushbike without peddles. I blame Bradley Wiggins for all these bikers.

If you need stabilisers then I wouldn't suggest this is the bike for you, start easy by learning to just stand and walk, try picking your hands up from the ground to avoid them dragging and scuffing the knuckles. Keep the jaw closed to avoid dribbling and avoid eye contact with children, they can be nasty little critters known to take advantage of the lower orders. Soon and with luck evolution may be kind to you, many generations down the line a distant cousin may just learn to ride a bike and understand the subtle art of humour. ;)

Might not get the cashback if using a code but might as well try the 3.45% TCB as well and see if it slips through :)

Didn't know that as still on 10 speed as it's more than enough for me an I can't smash a double. Really smacks of trying to force you to stick with them. SRAM still have 5 bolt.

Maybe the Tektros are decent on here but the 105 5800 are very well rated and any stock Tektros haven't been great IMO

It's a good price and the 32t chainring suggests this is aimed at beginners who want an introduction to road cycling.

Lots of bikes cheaper for beginners around £400 or even full carbon around this price.

The irony for a beginner to road cycling and completely new to it is without doing a lot of research or knowing people to recommend things then a lot of people will learn the most expensive way either buying a new bike outright, through CTW or insurance.

Once you have learnt from your mistakes you'll know what to look out for and you can pick up some really decent bikes for about 1/2 this price

I'm too sensitive to dare ride a bike on the road these days. The arrogance of the few peltonians has increased the hate from motorists to all bikes whether they are kids or grandpas'.
Fault- Bradley wiggins.

That's a bit unfair, there are idiots on BOTH sides, the problem nowadays is that everyone is so highly strung that the slightest error results in disproportionate anger :(

Great bike at a great price.
This frame will appeal to more casual riders, weekend warriors and commuters. It should be more comfortable and responsive than a cheap carbon frame. And should last longer. Stick a better set of wheels and it's a brilliant sportive bike.

Agreed - I'd suggest that Fulcrum 5's would be a decent and economic upgrade appropriate for this bike

Good frame which you can upgrade components on as they break - no urgent need to change anything until you get some good km's in

Good value at the price and should hold it's value well if you sell it on at a later date.

The PR-2 wheelset is bombproof although does come in at around 1900g, perfectly fine unless you do a lot of climbing.

Except it's not got a 32 chainring. It's a 34/50 compact which is the same compact crankset ratios that Carlos Sastre won the Tour de France on in 2008 and he was hardly a beginner.

I would say the idiots are the same people with low temper thresholds. I've seen Motorists giving abuse to bikes because they can't get past a group and they had a bike roof rack fully loaded!

Nope. Fault of the motorist if they treat everyone badly because of their experiences with someone else.

Too much of a generalisation anyway. There are idiots making their way about on all forms of transport. The trick is to not tar everyone with the same brush. Vast majority of people I encounter on the roads are perfectly fine.

It's a vicious circle, road users love to get self righteous about other groups. I'm a cyclist and a driver and can see the faults in all three groups-I'm not letting motorcyclists off scot free! :)
