Doesn't hurt to ask. Unless your experience is different? Are you in pain?

Ordered a couple of class 10 bad boys...thanks for that

Why would this come with an adaptor?

Why would this come with an adaptor?

Memory cards frequently come with adapters, usually to allow micro or mini SD cards to work in full sized SD slots. I am hoping to find an SD card that comes with an adapter to work with a micro-SD slot. I would rather not buy one separately if I can get it in a deal. Brilly knows all about this, but follows me from thread to thread to pour scorn on the idea.

Good deal, voted hot. I've got an 8GB class 4 My Memory SD card, which I bought a couple of months ago. Its not a speed demon, but it writes at 8Mb/s, reads at 15Mb/s, which I find perfectly capable for my requirements (including coping with full 1080p video recording on a Sony NEX-5). Recommended.

Oh and Longpockets, give it a rest, would you?

But these are full sized SD cards so an adaptor would be redundant!

If it said microSD then your question would have been relevant.

He's got a point, though. You're going to need a lot of luck, and possibly the machine from Honey I Shrunk The Kids, if you're going to find something that'll make an SD card fit into a MicroSD card slot.

That aside though, voted cold on this deal. Class 10 16GB cards are around £14, Class 10 4GB cards around £5. You're paying extra for the incovenience of a rigid bundle featuring two slow and seriously low-end cards, and that shouldn't appeal to anyone.

If you can find one of those then we'll be one step nearer a TARDIS :-)

darn, beaten to it...

Lol, how do u plan on using an adaptor to run a FULL-size SD card from a Micro or MiniSD card slot? Adaptors are used to run smaller items from bigger slots, NOT the other way round!

No, you have missed the point. I want an adapter that will allow the full sized SD card to be used with a micro-SD slot.

No luck required and it doesn't fit IN the slot. You have made an unreasonable assumption.

Tardis joke already done- by someone else who similarly misunderstood.

I plan to use the adapter in exactly the way it is designed to be used:

Would the 16g card be suitable for a camera such as a Sony Alpha?

Should be compatible but I would recommend a faster card, especially if you're planning on shooting in burst mode. I'm using a Class 10 Transcend card which have been good, although I'd like an even faster one :D

Amazon, just do a search.

Thanks for that site. I learned of yet another adapter for the full size SD memory card (but not the sort I am primarily interested in).

yeah i know lol.
never seen someone so stupid and proud of the fact.

btw for anyone that questioned the existence of 'the' adapter and was 'mocked' by longpockets...
longpockets asked for the adapter without actually knowing it existed. when he was told there wasn't one he asked if he could crop it. does that sound like someone that knows it exists? LOL.
a guy like this has no right to try and make anyone look bad.

I don't mock anyone, brilly, that's your game. You decided my posts gave you what you call a "justified" opening for insulting me, but came a cropper. I am civil to those who have not yet learned of the adapters available for full sized SD cards. They learn something new, as you did.

Only you can make yourself look bad. One wonders when you will stop doing it.

Good price but too slow.....
#26
LongPockets, I knew what you were asking but I think you will be hard pushed to find any bundle which includes that adaptor, its just to specialist, not many people need that function.

Does this particular card come with an adaptor, then?

My phone has an MicroSD slot, but this might be fine if it comes with an adaptor.

Doesn't appear to come with the adapter, unless anyone knows differently?

Most people with common sense know differently. Full size SD cards don't come with adapters. The type of adapter you say you require would certainly not be commonly packaged with a full size SD card.

It has been my experience that these cards are indeed not commonly packaged with an adapter, but that does not mean that it will never happen. You are trying to turn a probability into a certainty. In any case, there is nothing wrong with continuing to search for my preferred deal.
#33
Longpockets you're an (accidentally) entertaining chap I'll give you that!.

Do you think you're attracting the unwanted attention due to anything you're saying on the HUKD forum or do you just think it's a spot of bad luck? :)

It's probably safer for all concerned that you back away from electrical / IT equipment and stick to your area of expertise which appears to be Biodiesel and Governmental Politics from past posts.

Good luck with your search for your "holy grail" but my money is going to be on the aging Indiana Jones I'm afraid! :)

I don't understand why you have concluded that the exchange is unwanted. Nor, for that matter, that I am only "accidentally" entertaining.

Carry on searching for your deal which won't be happening any time soon, just keep it to yourself, you have no sense of logic. You are either stupid, mad or an attention seeker. Now do the decent thing shut up and stop trolling this thread and let everyone have a sensible discussion regarding this deal.

Your assessment of my qualities leaves out at least two viable possibilities. Like brilly, you seem uninterested in those that do not allow you scope for insults.

I'm not prepared to allow you to be the arbiter of what is "sensible". If you find my posts annoying, I recommend that you make use of the "ignore this user" button at the right hand side, and you will not be troubled by them in the future. Demanding that another poster be silent is both unacceptable and futile.

1+1 = 2

Your posts = stupid

I don't think we need Quantum Mechanics to explain your perverse use of logic.

I haven't noticed any quality or qualities of note in your posts so far, we could employ a retarded squirrel to arbitrate your posts if you prefer.

Moving back to the deal...it's a good un...but it's a damn shame it's not a Micro SDHC...does anyone know of an adapter so I can squeeze into an Advent Vega?.....

Oh sorry we've done this (to death) already :) I'll stick with a safe and simple NO! :)

This is entirely true.

I have to wonder about this guy's rationale. Let's try and work our way through it. He wants an SD to MicroSD adaptor for an undisclosed reason, but I'm betting it's because full-SD is marginally cheaper than MicroSD. Like about £2 cheaper for a 16GB card. Now, the scope of devices he must want it for must be fairly limited, since MicroSD is really only prevailent in mobile phones, so I'm guessing he either wants an adaptor with a ribbon cable so he can keep his full-SD card on the outside of his phone, perhaps secured with some PVC tape, or he wants a rigid adaptor that comprises of a dummy MicroSD card and a socket for a full SD card, with small wires in between to make it all functional, albeit extremely clumsy.

The first way, it's to save two quid on the cost of a card. The second way is to save one quid on the cost of an SD card reader, while spending about a fiver on some crazy specialist adaptor. In either case, I fear that the 24th of Feb 2011 might officially mark the date on which evolution ceased.
