Personal Magician...now that'd be a great feature.

I've bought one now anyway after pondering the need for 1080P on a screen I'll rarely if ever use for 1080P

does this TV have a sky remote code. Need for bedroom where we use the magic eye set up so use of the sky remote important for us.

I have emailed the manufacturer as they state on their website that the new v9 skyhd remotes will have the codes programmed on them.

A useful thread on avforums http://www.avforums.com/forums/tv-should-i-buy/931372-umc-21-6-lcd-tv-169-97-tesco.html

Been looking for a monitor for my son & daughter that was full HD and HDMI, hopefully this will be perfect (ordered). But can return if not.....

Anyone know if I'll be able to connect the sound out from the PC into the back of the TV or will I still need to use speakers?

Heat added!

The sound from PC can be connected but the TV is nothing special when used as a monitor.

I got it for £100 (£150 with £50 of Tesco gift vouchers) last year and it was a reasonable buy at that price. £125 is OK but not a spectacular bargain. It's very much a bottom end of the market machine.

When you say "nothing special" do you mean it doesn't look very good or no better than other monitors? I want to use it at 1920 X 1080 resolution and was hoping it would fair well.

I thought for £125 it was a good deal, I don't think you can get a Full HD TV that can be used as a monitor for £125. But if it doesn't work well as a monitor at the resolution I want to use, it will be going back.
#26
I don't see why it shouldn't work as well as a monitor?
#27
thinking of getting this for the bedroom, If anyone has already got one can you tell me if it can tilt forwards on the stand? as the one I got for the lads room is rubbish if you look at it from an angle.

Thanks

Is there an "audio out" on this TV, meaning you could work around the lack of a headphone socket?

Mine has a very poor picture as a monitor. It may just be that I got a bad one so try it and see.

Not sure if it does have an audio out, but that has been my main problem with the TV. Whatever I do I can't get it to work through headphones.

Picked my tv up today well pleased for the money only thing that lets it down is the lightweight tacky remote.Looks and sounds well on my kitchen wall i purchased a tilting bracket from b&m for £6.99 fits a treat  tried it on my pc but my samsung syncmaster is way better than this umc so ill stick with my sammy

Got it today, bit narked that its now a fiver cheaper though. :x
We bought it mainly as a monitor. Gave it a quick spin as a TV and the freeview channels looked reasonable. The stand is a bit crap because its not adjustable, but other than that can't complain too much.

When I plugged it into a PC the recommended screen size was 1440 X 900, but it let me select 1920 X 1080 (which is the main reason I bought it) and it looks fine. Does anyone know why the PC would recommend a lower resolution?

Oh this is tempting!

Could you try and explain the difference in quality?

I currently have a Philips 200WS (20.1") and I'm wondering whether there would be much difference in quality. I want to play my PS3 on my monitor but, as the Philips is non-HDCP, it's very awkward.

I'm tempted to sell that and buy this as a solution, but only if the monitor quality is about the same because that would be it's primary use.

I brought this tv and having a few troubles with freeview, I get like 54% signal which is fine on BBC channels but itv four five etc... Simply don't work play for about a second then freeze, my old freeview box coped on my old tv, only one it didn't get was film 4, and my samsuing downstairs is the same, has this just got a poor reciever or is it the tv, how much signal does anyone else have for it to be working fine?
