You vote on the deal not your personal preference to the shop
#2
Just got mine thanks, don't know why so cold so soon. I voted hot :)
[mod]#3
people are voting cold because littlewoods chase you for the money upto a year down the line.
suspended#4
Never had a problem with Littlewoods codes, so i vote hot, unlucky for some though
#5
Well I personally have never had any problems with littlewoods. I think this is an awesome deal and should expect the heat to rise.
#6
Why do you need to use your debit card rather than credit card ?
#7
credit or debit card, I ment dont use the account finance ie payable over 12 months etc
#8
ok cheers - tried this - will be well ****** if they try getting full price back - how the heck do you return points when used ?
#9
don't know why people are voting this cold, it's a good offer, just used it myself and all went through no problems :)

In the past, the orders have "gone through" no problem. The problem is that up to a year later, littlewoods decides they didn't like your use of the code, then debit your card or chase you up for the extra to make the item back up to full price.

It sounds ridiculous, even illegal for them to do this, but apparently it isn't and people on hotukdeals have had this exact experience in the past.

Hence the reason the deal has gone straight to cold.

its nothing to do with personal preferences.its to do with the item not being that price when littlewoods fail to give you the discount on whatever code you try to use....hadnt actually voted though........

might be better to try and buy some thermals with the code...I have a feeling your deal is going to get very cold...... :)

no idea why this is so cold!! Just use a single use mastercard if you're scared of them "chasing" you.
#14
Just worked for me....... let them try and take the full amount....... got family in trading standards!!!!

If they decide the voucher was misued, I think they will just send you an invoice if charging the card fails. And I believe they have threatened sending debt collection if that's not paid.

Crazy as it seems, trading standards are actually on littlewoods' side.

Here's a quote from BBC News:
Terms and conditions

Bargain hunters are furious at what they see as Littlewoods reneging on a contract of sale.

They are also angry that Littlewoods has taken over two months to pursue the alleged offenders, by which time they can no longer return the purchased items under the store's returns policy.

One aggrieved voucher user James Gosnold believed the situation had important implications for online trading standards.

He added: "Can you imagine buying something in a sale at High Street shop only to discover two months later that the sale price didn't apply to you? And that you didn't have the option to return the goods?"

But Littlewoods' position has been upheld by Liverpool Trading Standards, the home authority for the store.

The regional body's manager Allan Auty told the BBC that shoppers should make sure that they are legally entitled to the deals before they go ahead and use them.

He said: "In fact, if you think that the vouchers are not destined for you and you use them anyway, you could be breaking the law and it may not be the retailer knocking on your door, it could be the police."

Yes, unbelievable, I know.

I'm thinking about giving up on deals that involve having to try "getting away with it"

voted hot good deal, plus with quidco even cheaper!

Surely if they are that bothered about people fleecing them with codes, then they should either:

A) Not use them
B) Give the vouchers better security, for example a one use code...a bit like on 2100 microsoft points.
C) Make it much clearer what will happen if your not elegible or what the process will be.

If this is how they treat customers then they won't get much custom! Surely it has to be some sort of false advertising to say £15 off a new customers first order and then not do it when you are a new customer?

But why should they?

They send out a voucher....brings in new customers PLUS old customers trying to get away with it. Looks good for them.

The original recipitent gets the reduction, everyone else gets another invoice...they win either way
#21
It worked for me checked and only cost me £7 and I am a new customer so I can't see them chasing me!
#22
I tried this as a new customer and it worked fine. I received my points cards within a few days and noticed that £22 was taken from my credit card, then £15 put back on. This tallies with what other people said, so I guess Littlewoods are giving themselves the option of refusing the voucher code. It appears to be a different part of the complany that refund you the £15.
Must admit I'm a little nervous now that they might take money back off my card. I was thinking of faking a few more accounts to take advantage of this great deal, but seeing these complaints I'm not going to now.
