Does anyone actually think that these Live Points are actually good value? Like the Wii Points I find them vastly overpriced for the majority of downloadable content

i think 2100 points for £13 isa bargain considering you can get 2 xbox original games out of that ( ok need 300 more but)
13 rock band tracks - i think they are great value
#14
Can you buy it in store? The extra 10% discount would be great!

Don't get me wrong, compared to the RRP its a hot deal and voted as such, just that I have never bought Live points as I consider them to be overpriced for a lot of content that is for sale (Same with Wii points). I really dont think that even at £13 its good value, especially when most games are on an even point basis as in 800 points for a Live Arcade title, or 1200 points for a Xbox title, or a ridiculous 400 points for some old movie downloadable. The fact is, these points in general are a rip off and I am sure Microsoft sell you them in these "odd" amounts to make you buy more.

Yes they are good value and being able to download San Andreas etc from Live(360 is backward compatible) works out cheaper and easier than trying to find and buy the Xbox 1 original from ebay etc.

Call me old fashioned, I would prefer to slap down a tenner on a copy of San Andreas and play it instead of downloading it.

So really its not the amount of points you get for your money you tiff is the high cost of xbox live stuff

well, if you want the content, £13 for 2100MSP is the cheapest you're gonna get.

Good value compared to what?
400MSP = £3.40 at the base rate (buying them at the fixed price direct from MS)

There are games coming out for 800MSP (£6.80) that are bigger (and more varied) than some boxed Wii games.

San Andreas was just released for 1200MSP (£10.20). Although you might be able to find it 2nd hand at a similar price or cheaper, it's not bad for a download (it's $23 on Steam)

Portal: Still Alive (the original game from the Orange Box + new challenge maps) was released yesterday at 1200MSP. The original Portal is $19.99 on Steam, which compares favourably (yes I know the Orange Box pack can be had as a whole, but we're on about single games here)

It's true that some publishers/games have not got the hang of the pricing (Horse Armour anyone?) but in the most part the Arcade service is pretty good value.

160MSP for a song in Rock Band = £1.36, compared to 79p for just a song in iTunes (with the sound quality in the RB files being higher, usually from the master recordings) it's pretty good.

Factor in that these prices are for paying the RRP for the points, that the downloads are attached to your account (deleted a game? it's free to download it again, unlike iTunes).

A quote from a mate of mine: "I can't take a download to CeX and trade it in so why should I buy them?"
This from the person who a year after saying that bought Duke Nukem 3D on the 360 the minute it was released.

Expired. Now £16 online

Just went on and the price is now back up to £16.00!! :( Im absolutely gutted! I was going to buy 3, plus i get 10% off with my brothers staff discount. Raging!
#27
We buy these points mainly for RockBand songs. Yeah, sure.. I would like them for free.. I already forked out 100 plus for the game + instruments.. but for the amount of time and fun we have together.. actually spending time as a couple, laughing and having fun instead of vegging watching t.v not talking to each other.. that is worth it for me.

I can see everyones points though.. But it doesn't make this any less a hot deal for those that think the points are worth it.

Thanks Op x
