Seems good to me and has good reviews

Do I read correctly that under accessory it comes in a Glossy coloured box?

Wow!

Must get this.

Regardless, seems a spiffing deal, chaps.

OR with DVD included for £160.

Thats got to be a better deal, surely?

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for!

Reading through the reviews, it plays .avi files but can anyone confirm what files it actually is capable of playing?

It seems that you can mount on a wall. As I have no experience with wall mounting, anyone suggest what I need to buy to do so?

I'm presuming the DVD is set to region 2.

If its anything like their DVD &bluray players which i assume it will be running the sam usb interface it'll play mkv and divx files which is what i assume you'd want :) I might grab myself one of these as well for that price it's a bargain!

Their DVD & Bluray players are super cheap and good value for money as well :)

Wouldn't mind USB capable but ever so slightly bigger... 26" isn't much to ask :p

Player/Recorder/Playback

If it is a recorder as in the title, does it have a built in hard drive ? - cant see any mention in the specs or on ebuyer.
If it does , anyone know what size it is ?

Thanks

It is vesa mount compatable so most mounts would be suitable, If you look in the special offers on the product page they have a package for £164 that includes the mount:thumbsup:

This is not HD, this means that it can process a 1080p input signal but due to the resolution of the screen itself, you will not have 1080p on screen. HD resolution is 1920*1080 hense the 1080p, 1080 lines, progressive.

Fixed mount in Tesco for under a tenner. More if you tilt or swing and tilt. Simple attachment to the TV (use the correct screws - if too long will cause damage!) but you need to be sure it's firmly fixed to the wall.

Probably like the Tesco (Technika) ones. Records onto USB stick or you can connect an external USB hard drive. I've got a Tesco one but haven't tried the record facility yet.

This seems a good deal especially for my needs - it has both analogue & Digital tuners and we are at the end of the line for digital changeover. Voted Hot but will go for the £160 inc DVD.

Having read a few reviews on this brand (Name is owned by Ebuyer. Set is manuf by VESTEL - as are a load of cheapo makes) I wouldn't touch it with yours, let alone mine.
Very unreliable products
And and poor service record from Ebuyer has been experienced by too many to ignore.

And please take absolutely NO NOTICE of the heavily vetted reviews on their site.
#19
If you read through the reviews on the site after the first two pages all people seem to mention is the sound quality.

I was thinking of this for a bedroom and according to one reviewer the sound is too low at level three and jumps considerably when put to level four. Also, many people are complaining about very tinny sound.
#20
rizla01 but it comes with 3 years warranty, so if it does break down at least you are covered for three years? if it works for three years then its a bargain for that price?

It may well be advertised with 3 year warranty, but this is worthless if the company is then unhelpful when you need assistance. Has anyone any experience of Ebuyer's aftersales service?

My personal experience of Ebuyer's customer service is shocking, so I'd sooner buy from the likes of Tesco, but I may just have been unlucky.

Your post is misleading. The TV IS HD (720P), it will just downscale a 1080P input to that (1080P video on a 22" screen would be pointless anyway).

Also not a bad resosution if you want to use it as a PC monitor.

I have had experience with ebuyer aftersales. Bought a motherboard which broke down after about 10 months. They were excellent, no longer stocked the one I bought but allowed me to choose one of the same value, meaning I ended up getting a better board! The whole process of sending it back/receiving the replacement was done in about 7-10 working days I think...

Hope this helps
#24
I think that Ebuyer have actually improved their customer service in recent years as they had a terrible reputation not that long ago which was damaging their business.
#25
i have a 4 year old sony vaio pc monitor 17" tft, will this be an upgrade in quality? As i wanna replace the screen for a bigger one. but not loose picture quality.
#26
I unfortunately bought a Foehn & Hirsch TV from Ebuyer last year, and it took me over six months to get the problem sorted, after Ebuyer decided to send the TV 150 miles away from my home on about six occasions after their so called "repairs" in which the TV got progressively worse each time it was returned! Eventually they did agree to my request to replace it with a different make television (LG) which is so much better than these cheap low cost/quality TVs.

Probably like the Tesco (Technika) ones. Records onto USB stick or you can connect an external USB hard drive. I've got a Tesco one but haven't tried the record facility yet.

I've got the 19" Aldi Logix variant (with Samsung screen) and that one records via USB to the 4gb flash drive that came with it. The recording is Mpeg.

Up to now mine has never refused to play an .avi file I have downloaded though it does not play .mkv so I'd expect this to be similar.

Good price though, same as my Aldi 19"
#28
Thanks for all your comments. I have just ordered the TV & will report back what the performance is like when I get my ps3 playing on it!
#29
delivered yesterday and have to say that i am plesently suprised with the picture and build quality.

solid sleek build, picture quality is superb for the money - on par with 22" sony one i have in the kitchen which i paid £250 for last year.

this really excels and is fantastic value for money when considering the features: freeview, dvd, usb playback and record, vga input - HAPPY DAYS!
#30
Can anyone give us any more info on the usb part of this tv, what files it plays (avi. etc) and also how the record part works on it, is it just as simple as having a usb connected and chossing programmes via the tv guide to record like sky+ for example.

I'm really interested in this or the one with the dvd added and the above info would be really helpful and any other similar priced alternates.

Thanks
#31
Just got mine today! Very fast delivery.
Very good build. Excellent picture quality. Hooked up the ps3 to it & worked like a charm.
Tired watching a film on my USB, it was like explorer, it allows you to go through folders on your USB to locate the file. The film loaded (avi) quick.
The digital freeview TV channels were very clear although I think I need a better arial as I just used a cheap one just to check if it works.
I tried recording something off the TV & it saved it straight into the USB:
29 seconds of recording - 8, 056kb
Recorded in mpeg format
720x576 (15000 kbps) 25.24fps

please note that it does not come with a scart or HDMI cable

Hope that helps that info helps!
#32
Thanks for that, think I'm going to get this one but with the added dvd player.

Does it make any noise when recording to the usb, as I would use it to record overnight sometimes and can you watch one side while recording on the another?

Anyone else got any reviews on what this or the dvd one is like to use?
#33
Great find - heat added! Have ordered one for son's bedroom to link up to a PS3. Ordered an HDMI cable off eBay for about £1.75 all-in.
Fingers crossed :)
#34
No it does not make any noise when recording onto the USB. The quality was very good when watching it on my laptop. I have not explored if you can change the quality of the recording.
I think this is perfect for anyone wanting to play their ps3 on it. Sound quality was fine, not sure what people were complaining about?

Hope that helps
#35
Recording on this tv actually captures the stream at what ever the bitrate of the channel that is being broadcast and captures at 25fps.btw using a usb 1 pen you will get a warning its not fast enuff but it will still record without any problems. Sound quality is naff but you can use headphone output to connect pc type speakers.Freeview quality was suprisingly descent without any run in time, tried sum xvids and they played fine with fforward rewind etc in all very pleased with it.
