Bought this one last time it was on - it's really brilliant. So chuffed with it - heat left
Had a minor fault - and AG Neovo swapped it by courier no questions asked, that 3 year warranty is pure gold!
All in all a great deal - as good as my friend's Samsung 22" which he paid £230 for - so excellent - in fact I believe this is selling at ebuyer for £230+?

I've had a 19inch Neovo monitor for about 3 years and they're very solid and I've had a duff day with it.

Does anyone know if this monitor has a gloss finish (under whatever name, truebrite or whatever), or if it has a more traditional matt finish.

Also, I don't really know anything about HDMI, other than my new laptop has a port for it. Can you get converters for any monitor from DVI to HDMI as seems to be how you get HDMI on this, or does the monitor have to specially support HDMI even if it is via a DVI connection?

Also what is the benefit of HDMI over DVI (other than my laptop doesnt have a DVI connection)

Thanks.

HDMI and DVI are both Digital, no difference. You can get HDMI to DVI and vice versa.

I bought this before and it had a green pixel. I wasnt happy but dont have the time nor energy to send back. Really unhappy with Scan, seems like a lottery for a panel without dead/lit pixels :x:x:x:x:x

I got one from Scan couple of weeks ago at this price. Can't fault Scan for quick delivery. Bit disappointed in the monitor, quite cheap looking and shows a lot of imperfections like creases in the plastic. Black finish is neither matt nor gloss, not sure how to describe it. Also two stuck pixels, one white and one ?brown. First monitor I have had with pixel imperfections. Also setting it up with DVI cable was not possible without also attaching the VGA cable to get the set to autoadjust. Anyway, picture is pretty good. Not sure I'll keep it for too long, probably sell it with my computer and buy a better quality monitor. Planning to build myself a new computer sometime soon. Not sure what monitor to buy though.

Thanks very much for posting this.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about monitors, so could anyone tell me which one to get out of the one on this deal, and the HannsG deal here please - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/138191/hannsg-22-hdmi-vga-monitor-135-del-/

The only thing I can see is the response time is better with this one, but I've no idea if HannsG is a better make or not?

Thanks,

Steve

Very few companies check then before shipping them out - those that do often charge extra for the privaledge.

If they had refused returns that would be one thing but if you can't be bothered to send it back then I don't see how you can blame Scan.

It is one thing if you don't really want to spend the time returning it, but I have to say, sometimes these items can take a while to arrive. I can't remember how long it took Scan to send my screen last time they had this deal running, but if you are quite despirate for a monitor, and you wait all week or so for it, only to find it has dead pixels and needs to go back, it is just slightly annoying.
But there we go, like alternate said, at least they do take returns, otherwise there would be many more unhappy people. :-D

Got mine delivered next working day from Scan. They use City Link courier so there is always the possibility it may take a bit longer, cos City link sucks!

Hiya!
I know what you mean about not having the time or patience to send back - generally sending back to an online shop is a real hassle, especially for a single dead pixel, putting up without a monitor for days potentially.

HOWEVER, just ring up AG Neovo and sort it with them - quick and easy - took me 5 mins, and they come and deliver a new monitor to your house and pick up the old one at the same time - they arrange a date that suits you and can even pick it up from your workplace. They didn't even check mine, they just swapped - really good customer service. Give it a go mate, you'll be impressed, it's really zero effort:

Agreed, City link sucks big time - I have to endure their "service" whenever I buy from ebuyer too...
I got this delivered to my workplace, and they just left the monitor inside the doorway - not even reception.
Scan, also, just left it in it's normal box with no indication of who it belonged to, except a letter perched above it.
It could have so easily gone walkabout. That's the downer for me really.

But I say to you wellfan, as above, try the AG Neovo support if you had issues with the monitor - it's a rare day I praise support, but I now love AG Neovo for their no hassle support. :)

Did they actually swap it for a brand new monitor, or was it a refubished item?

Yes as southpaw said, their service at Scan is amazing. I was very surprised when i got a txt from them telling me the day my item would arrive as usually all you get is an email but I got a txt and an email. Can't remember exactly, but I think it took about 4 days for mine to come, as when I ordered I think already a good few HUKD members had ordered previously so stocks were low or empty.
But Scan seem an excellent company which i feel is not very well publicised. I never knew they existed until I got reading some of the posts on here.

Think my delivery came with Citilink (Yellow and Green van). I found a card through my door, saying I had missed the guy. I was in all day! :x Guess he must have knocked, waited for 3 seconds and then legged it back to the van and onto the next delivery! He came next day and got the item then! So only a day late :w00t:

Can anyone tell me how to get the most from this moniter , my pc only has a VGA output to connect to moniter , however this moniter has DVI and VGA input , Do i need a new graphics card with DVI output or is there any benefit in using a DVI TO VGA CABLE to connect existing pc output ,
any advise appreciated ,

Got one of these a few weeks ago. It seems a good monitor for the price and for games I have no problem with it. The windows main screen however can look a bit blury to me but I'm not sure it is down to my settings (have it set to max - anyone else experience this problem). Windows applications are bright and clear though so I would recommend this monitor for price. Yea it looks a little cheap, but then again it is dummy, if you want a classy looking display pay the extra and stop winging. For the Price & 3 year warrentry how can you complain? Scan excellent service and delivered in 3 days - No dead pixles, the luck of the draw I guess.
#18
Comes with all cables VGA to DVI and HDMI to DV - this is not the case with some branded manufacturers. There should be no need to buy a new card. HDMI to DVI is supposed to be better but if you haven't got one you can wait until you upgrade and the feature is there.

Not sure anyone needs to be getting called a 'dummy', and don't think anyone is 'winging', whatever that means. All posts seem to be making fair comments.

Nice one. Reason I asked, was I had to return a Hewlett Packard monitor and was swapped for a refurbished item.

Beergoggles: mine didn't come with DVI to HDMI
If your games seem blurry, it's because the game is running at a resolution the monitor isn't scaling nicely to - so try changing the in game resolution to something near 1680x1050. For my older 4:3 games I've set my Nvidia drivers to keep the aspect ratio of the game so it doesn't get stretched and look pants and instead letter boxes it.
This monitor scales down very nicely at 1920x1080p on my 360...

Also, about the "whinging", this monitor sells elsewhere (at cheap e-retailers) for £230, it's not a **** bargain monitor and shouldn't be thought of as such. Just because it's going cheap doesnt mean you should put up with a product that's not 100% anyway.

Just got mine and set it up, looks lovely. I'm enjoying the dual screens now :D
#25
I got mine today, and it's great apart from 2 dead pixels.

Not sure whether they will change it, as in their warranty info it says 3 are classed as acceptable...

With Respect To LCD Display Pixel Quality
Inspection of the defective display pixels must be performed in black screen. A dot defect is defined as: 0.15mm diameter 0.3mm
A maximum of 3 bright pixels or 3 dark pixels is allowed in an LCD panel; the total number of dark and bright pixels should not exceed 3 pixels for the whole area.

What do you reckon, should I bother trying? And go to Scan about it or AG Neovo?

Problem is you could get another one with same problem. Are you pixels dead or stuck? I have a stuck white and stuck brown one. Only noticeable on certain background colours and both are near edge of screen. Really annoying though.
#27
I think they are red pixels. Both near the top. It's just irritating, now I know they're there I'm gonna keep looking at them. Might send an email to AG, see what they say.
