is there a way to connect this to a sky/virgin/freeview box so that it becomes a tv too? I presume you need a box that takes scart in and chucks out DVI +sound

I have one of these, from Scan during their last round of offers on this. Use it mainly for Xbox 360 and I can defo reccomend it for HD gaming. Games are so much better. Speakers as expected are pap, and the adaptor you get with the 360 vga cable to get audio LR into a line in plug does not fit well as it is quite awkward. But then you would be down right stupid to even attempt to use the speakers on a basic LCD screen. I connected my DVD player which has HDMI out on it to the screen via a HDMI-DVI cable....picture output is no doubt good. But there was a funny black/grey line at the bottom which I couldnt get rid of. Dont know if thats the Doovde player of the screen. It gets a hot rating for me, well worth it as a budget screen, great for PC too at the price. Nice bright screen. No dead pixels present.

I bought this five months ago and it is a very good monitor for the price. There is one issue that could drive people mad though. It can go bllurry on boot up and to correct it you have to go through the on screen options and recall the screen defaults (see AV forums). This mean you loose your tailored settings. This is not an issue for me as the dafault setings are fine, but some will be returning this.

The blurry screen issue only seems to happen (for me anyway) when you completely turn off the power to the monitor, ie, unplug it/swicth it off at the wall. So if you never do that you should be okay.
I was going to return mine because of it but decided to plug the monitor in another socket and leave just that on all the time. No blurry screen since.

Follow the link for a step-by-step guide on how to fix the blurriness:

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6257319&postcount=28

NOTE: I've found that the monitor only reverts to the blurry image when turned off at the mains. So if you turn off at the mains every night you will have to perform the above reset every time you turn back on.

Other than that, a big fat HOT from me. excellent monitor for the price.

/EDIT: See that above poster has already mentioned the problem being switching off at the mains. My bad. Will read more in the future ;)

Bought this monitor from Scan a couple of months ago.
I get the blurry screen when I first boot up in the morning (after power switch off at mains)
I just go into the OSD and adjust the Sharpness.
Works every time.
I have mine set to 5 but for some reason it puts it to 4 after mains power off.
Put it back to 5 in the morning and hey presto..all sharp again :)

Question - if you get a Scart to Component cable convertor, can you use this as a TV and plug freeview box into it?

Cheers!
