Might wanna remember this monitor doesn't do HDCP, so you can't connect a PS3 to it.

Still hot.

Damn!

One of these days a cheap Full HD monitor will have HDCP, and on that day I will buy one. I get excited every time one pops up.

I didn't realise you needed HDCP to be able to connect a PS3. Oh well you learn something new every day. If you wanted to watch some BD outputed from a PC using this monitor then AnyDVD HD software will bypass the HDCP for you. Heat added - the cheapest I've seen this monitor is normally about £103.

Anyone know a good deal fro a 24" monitor?

mmmmm, if I had the graphics card, 3 of these bad boys together would be great for eyefinity......
tut, will have to put up with my 32"er.....

I don't know much about this HDCP lark but as my housemate has this monitor and I can actually hear him playing Reach on his 360 from here you're not right about that :)

My understanding was HDCP was only needed for blu-ray playback?

Best price yet for this monitor, I have had one for a year now (Paid £108 from memory), and I am about to buy a second. No the original hasn't failed, I need more screen space. I think they are excellent general purpose monitors.
#12
360 doesn't require hdcp via hdmi/dvi but I think the ps3 does even for games.

Thats right. You can get VGA output on the 360. I've done it before.

that would be it. for HDMI it requires HDCP, so irrelevant with this monitor :)

#22
Thats a steal i want one !!

back at original price

bought 1 of these from last deal, althot the picture was ok it had about 4 dead pixels - had a huge headache trying to return it to scan, at the end they did not accept because they consider 4 dead pixels not be a 'fault' - im having to sort it out with the manufactures now.

Any1 who ordered 1 of these check them ASAP for any faults and make sure it comes with all the accessories i.e. vga cable & DVI converter etc

Just received mine and it has a stuck red pixel. Have contacted them to see what they say but if the response is not positive, I'll be sending it back under the Distance Selling Regulations 'cooling off' period.

as i said before I hard time returning that to scan, as i found out they consider anything less than 5 dead pixels as NOT faulty (how that makes sense i dunno), apparently its in the DGM warranty as well - as i have contacted the manufactures and they also take the same view as in any less than 5 dead pixels and they can't do anything.

I had a natter with a customer service rep from scan about this issue, and the women who i was talking to kept telling me to do a google search on the net for 'dead pixel policy'' as to why they can not refund or even replace my defected item!

so basically for the people who have bought their 'brand new' monitors with less than 5 dead/red pixels can not do anything but live with it - for the time being at least.

if any1 has any other bright ideas, other than contacting Distance Selling Regulations, please enlighten us as I would like to get my money back for this.

the reply I got from the manufacture DGM on the deal pixels subject:

Dear Mr

Thank you for your email.

To have your monitor repaired under the terms of the warranty please contact our service partners on 0844 482 11 55.

Please note a monitor will only be considered faulty if 5 or more dead pixels are present. Charges may apply if your monitor is returned to our repair centre and no fault is found with the monitor.

Kind Regards

Fortunately I made contact with them on the day I received the monitor and am going to return it to them within the seven day period specified in the Distance Selling Regulations. The problem with this is that I have to pay return postage costs, which shouldn't be the case if the unit is not fit for purpose. It just depends on whether one red pixel can be argued to render the unit unfit for purpose. I would say yes, Scan would say no...
