Thank you Mamboboy for the deal and link re free delivery. All these recent large montor deals are going to bankrupt me lol!
#2
Poor contrast Contrast Ratio: 1000:1

Thats a good price, got my AOC 23" Full HD for £109 so not bad at all. Just seems low on the Contrast ratio unless they missed a digit out on this one lol.

sabz786, Have you never heard of the saying 'Contrast is in the eye of the beholder'?

by the way, cannot quote sabz786 comments as the new version of the site is not allowing me. Yes I'm using Firefox and yes, I've refreshed. Surely HOTUKD is more than capable of testing their site on arguably the most popular browser (yawn). Oh by the way, I'm not a Microsoft hater either, Firefox is just quicker and nicer so ner...

Cheers all for the answers

I would refrain from those LED displays as it does hurt my eyes so bad after using it for more than 30 mins, that's something to do with the light beam produced from these LED backlid.. But it is your choice

I will probably for for this

Nearly posted earlier, but it was whinging about a duplicate deal from 9 months ago. Nice deal for a cheap monitor. Think i'll pay the extra 35 quid for a 23" Samsung having had nothing but good experience with my previous Sammy.
#11
good price but full hd is a con! this will probaby be great for watching movies but pointless for working/browing net, 1080 pixels is just not enough. 1200 should be min.

Digimate couldn't make decent monitor if Samsung gave them one without a badge on it - as soon as that badge goes on - 'bam!' crap resolution, picture, contrast, refresh rate etc etc...

Specsavers wants to feature them in their next advert ;-p
#13
thank you op, just orderd - im relying on the comments in this deal post for it to be a decent monitor - from the specs it does seem so

Haha, maybe a tad to harsh no?. DGM have been going for years and their CRT's were great for work, their newer displays are budget ill give you that but they are good value. Youll probably find that Samsung did make the display as they sell a lot of their panels to other companies :D.

Ive read some reviews (albeit there aren't many) and it was given the thumbs up apart from some issues like back light bleed, tbh i think you would expect it at this price!. Worth it if its for just work and stuff (no art work though :P)

Im more tempted now as ive just got some overtime pay come through.... hmmmmmmmmm must resist!.

Just thought I'd point out that there's no HDCP support, so it won't work with Blu-Ray/Consoles that are hooked up via DVI. They'd work via VGA though as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for that, answered the question I was about to ask.

They won't work via VGA unless you buy HDFury or something similar for around £50.

Doh !! I made a mistake buying this. Scan sent me a dodgy one, refurbished one rather than new one, the monitor has been used, there is no VESA mounts either. No DVi cable as well although on the box said the DVI cable is included.

I am getting this to send back as so disappointed
#17
its been a long time since i ordered anything off scan - got my monitor today, i noticed there were at least 3 dead pixals when i tunred it on - and the overall build quality is very cheapish but it does give a decent display. might return it because of the dead pixal problem.

sad to hear about ur case heovang, return it and complain!
#18
Yeah. I will phone them tomorrow as I sent 3 emails so far and have no reply

My first impression when touching this monitor is WOW..it is so light...hahaha...but it made from cheap plastic material that's why

I also forget to mention, the table stand comes with was put in the white padded envelope rather than the original packaging, and amazingly they use a brown elastic band to tie the cable from the power adaptor, they can't even use a industrial standard one.

Apparently I googled it a bit, there are loads of places selling them for the same price..Gutted

@bestpricebob: Aha, I haven't got the DVI cable so I can't connect my Mac on the screen yet, so don't know if there is any dead pixels..lol..but I have ordered a new DVi cable and see if I turned it on tomorrow..lol

Now £93.99 via today only link - gutted!
#21
Mine arrived yesterday. Came with UK and European power supply cables and a VGA cable - no DVI cable or adapter. Will connect it up today and see how it looks.
#22
sabz786, Just ordered one for £93.99 through the "Today Only" link. I know I might have been fasting all day yesterday, but I'm sure I wasn't hallucinting last night lol!
#24
Frustrating - I would put your footdown and actually call them and remind them of their duties as your contract is with them and not the manufacturer.

Same problem here, they actually tried to refuse the refund but offer to send me a replacement DVI cable which I have already bought it elsewhere. I paid via Paypal so it is in Paypal claim at the moment. Apparently Scan authorised Paypal to deal with all the problem, so a dispute automatically being escalated to a claim and being review by Paypal.

@bestpricebob: Hope you can sort it out, as legally you have 14 days to refund as Distance Selling Regulations. Even if they refuse to give me RMA number, I will just send it back at my own cost and keep the receipt of postage to prove that I have returned the product.

I am not fuss really as I have card purchase protection on the Debit Card I paid with through Paypal, but this is really bad service I have received to be honest.
#26
sabz786, heovang thanks for the feedback, I will defiantly take this up with scan come Monday - will also be phoning up my bank where the purchase was authorised and get them on the case too.

@heovang, good job with the paypal payment, their dispute feature is pretty good i should have made the purchase thru them also - i for 1 will be not making any future purchases from scan, I am really disgusted with their customer service
#27
Thanks God !! Got an email from Scan today giving me the RMA number. And the email was in a SPAM mail box..lol
#28
same here, i had to phone scan to get my RMA - i guess their customer service is not that bad afterall ;)

altho i had to pay the postage cost back, which was about £9.14, im gonna hasstle scan to refund me that also.

orderd myself 1 of these now http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/iiyama-prolite-24-full-hd-led-backl/750045
