its around that price elsewhere anyways, Play.com will usually lower it to around £180 every now and then.

Had mine for a few weeks and the sound quality is amazing with excellent bass, precise mids and highs. the noise cancelling works really well and the touch screen is responsive and easy to navigate, the OLED screen is bright & vivid and it shows true black. The youtube player works well but the web browser sucks but that's not a issue for me.

Have you updated the firmware? It gets better, still not as good as Safari on the iPod Touch, but better than it is out of the box.

Incidentally for those looking at these the only thing the iPod has over this is the web stuff (Safari, app store...), the Sony is superior in every other way.

Thanks.
Sound quality is what I'm after, way and above the gadgets.

Like the fact that it also has 'feely' buttons, as well as the touch screen.
Does this work OK for just putting your hand in your pocket to change tracks, etc.?

Play.com is £10 more and can't find it cheaper anywhere else, after a quick look around (Amazon etc.)
Would prefer the 'security' of going to Argos and the easy After-sales

I assume that this comes with wifi then?

OLED is a nice touch.

yes I've updated it and seems a bit better but I only used the browser a couple of times.

The iPod Touch wins on price though, and the games / applications available too.
Other than that, I believe the sound quality is better on the Sony and I'm sure it's a great player (my colleague had one for Christmas and he's obsessed with it). No big issues between them, although as an iPhone owner I must say that I don't really like iTunes and this does restrict how much I use the music player functionality, which is annoying (other than that I love it though)...

Lack of Bluetooth kills this for me....
