Looks good

Go to deal link doesn't work tho?

Fixed :D
Not as good as the professional stuff but not a bad beginners set, plus this comes with trays for you to keep it organised (unlike my tool chest lol)
#3
Cool thanks a lot :) My professional set is all over the show!
#4
personally they'd be no good for me, but at that price I'd say that was a bargain indeed!
#5
Great price for a good basic set, wasted on me as once they leave the box my tools vanish !
#6
This is brilliant for my son for christmas, thanks. I have tried to reserve to collect in store but cannot find where to put the discount code, can anyone help please.

reserve it and print off the 10% voucher and its refunded at the till upon pickup :D

Good deal but also a pretty regular offer. I got mine for £43 a few months ago.

Get some new drivers & don't count on the screwdrivers for anything tough, otherwise worth the money I paid for it ... warm
#9
It was at this price for some time now. I got it last week. Used it today fixing my Jag ;) seems good for the money - the best bit is that you have all of the tools organised ;)
#10
Good price, but don't expect quality.

I was on a budget a while back and needed some tools to fix my car. I picked up a similar set, although was 69.99, and the socket wratchets snapped inside after 5 minutes, so I ended up buying good quality tools to finish the job.

Be warned - great for basics, but thats it. Even the screwdrivers mash-up on a tight screw!
#11
Garbage. I been there and done that, dont bother

any link to good quality stuff?

The halford pro 150 pc set (here) is a bargin for £100. MOst people wont realise the difference between this stuff and snap-on!! ive had it for a while now and its amazing quality for the money!!!
#14
poor quality tools, wouldn't be any good for me

may be a nice present for someone with a garage who likes to potter about perhaps ?!?
#15
Their PRO Tools are very highly rated - only tool snobs look down their Snap-On noses at them

Yep, quite right, the Pro tools are top notch.
Unfortunately, as is confirmed on the link, these are definitely not from the pro range.
I suppose it would be useful as a starter kit, the stuff made from chocolate alloy could be gradually replaced with quality gear, and you would still have a handy storage box. Better than having them lurking in dark corners of the garage like mine!

235 piece
And 99% of the time you'll use 35 pieces and 200 will be shrapnel.
Better to spend the money on quality gear that you actually need.

Hot for price
cold on useability.

why are people still going on about how bad they are, didnt you read the 1st few posts where people said they are basic NOT GOOD QUALITY stuff. good deal for price heat added :-)
#19
All of Halfords tools are so expensive that you shouldn’t really consider them until there is have a half price sale on the pro range. Even then you won’t be getting a great bargain.
#20
I agree, the ratchet spanners and vortex socket sets are worth snapping up when you get the half price deals

The halford pro 150 pc set (here) is a bargin for £100.

Yes I wouldn't doubt that's good quality in comparison to the other set, but there's no way that set was ever £200, reduced to £100. I mean who in their right mind would fork out £200 for that - c'mon seriously?:?
#22
Its a good price - buy as it contains metric and imperial you are unlikely to use half of it.

Also - unless you take out the imperial ones that you are unlikely to use - then you find yourself spending ages looking through oily sockets that you cannot read the size on - and it will take twice as long if the imperials are still there.

However, its brilliant if you have a second car that's a Brit classic in addition to a normal car.

Agreed, this kit is very good - I have had it for about 2 years now, rebuilt numerous cars and 99% of the kit can take real abuse. Keep a look out though because sometimes it comes down to around GBP75 ish IIRC

I bought these two years ago....they were £45 then
and to be honest there not really worth the money
i had to replace all three ratchets within 7months.
when i took them back to halfords and asked why did they break after 7 months
there answer was a classic
"i over used them"
haha
awesome
all depends what your after at the time its all i could afford.
probably should have saved and got some better ones
saying that ive still got most of the socket heads.
but the screw drivers all snapped
not guna vote as im sure some of you will find them usefull

Seriously.... do you have any idea how much sockets from other well branded names come from... you would be looking at much mre than £200 for those as an equivalent. and even for £200 they woulb be quite a good price if you compare them to other good manufacturers.
