I don't think it is I'm sure it was £30 before

It's not complete any more though is it? I guess that's why it's cheap.

Yeah, they'll just sell them off to make way for a new box set that will include Live Another Day, expect it to get cheaper over the coming months and a new one to come out at around the £90 marker.

They've had ages to bring the series out on Blu Ray at this point - is it ever going to happen?
#8
Flubit will probably get you under £30.

Rewatching them from the start on Netflix but IMHO the early seasons haven't aged very well. Not likely to revisit again.
Heat on the find though

I think only the first season didn't age well, 2-8 were fine. Well worth 32 pound

They are probably waiting until LAD has finished to release the whole blu-ray set

Completely agree. Season 1 isn't fantastic now when you watch it back, 2-8 are fine. Never liked Redemption though.

Keep an eye on Sky On Demand as they had all seasons of 24 available in HD before they premiered Live Another Day.

I'm a huge 24 fan but I have to admit that I agree with you. I rewatched season 1 recently and was shocked at how dated it felt. It made me appreciate season 2 far more, when I had never previously rated it that much.

Season 1 is still better than the festering turd that was season 6 however.

So should a newbie still start with season 1?

Start with Season 1. It'll set up the characters/format for you and, as you've not seen it before, you won't be comparing it to the last time you watched it! I'd watch it on Netflix rather than buy the box set or on Sky On Demand Box Sets. Seasons 1-8 are on there until the end of July but, if you have the space*, you can download them to watch anytime. (*1.5 or 2tb box, assuming you're downloading the HD seasons)

Yes - I paid £30 in early May - from memory it was a 24 hour only deal

Great price but I bought this almost when it first came out for £49.99 and I was disappointed. Maybe it's just me but I didn't like it nothing happens in the first series and some of the acting is a bit silly. It's like one average action movie stretched out over a whole series and the clock is a gimmick that isn't needed as the plot moves at a snails pace. I really didn't get it. Maybe I should have watched the second series but I traded the box set in.
