Yeah I wish they had lids too. However these are so strong, practically unbreakable and great for your supermarket shopping and they stack in the trolley when packed.

Potatoes........I take it you don't realise how small 24 litres is. It's about the size of a shoebox.

Let's get the size of this small box, sorry 'crate', into perspective. Once cubic foot is 28 litres.

Standard sized box? Whatever. I've never seen this particular box referred to as the standard size.....by which all others are gauged I presume.

Anyway, that wasn't my point. This is a small box and hardly ideal for growing potatoes.

Yes standard sized plastic box that normally come in a bundle of 3 for £10. It's bigger than a standard sized shoebox unless you are a clown or wear very large platform shoes. I expect you could grow potatoes in it depending on which variety you wish to grow.

HMMMM, Asda Milton Keynes had them but they scanned at £3, even though they were in the £1 sale section.......watch your receipts and make sure they are going through at a quid......

I expect you could grow an oak tree in it too if you wanted. Bonsai potatoes..........yes, I can see that one taking off. I'm surprised at those who deem these suitable for potato growing. One crop and a meal for one. I'll stick to buying my spuds thanks.

Not knocking the post, they're a good buy for a quid. Just trying to make folk realise the true size of these 'crates' as its clear there's folk who don't understand volume by litres.

Is this a good price for this type of thing? I need to get at least 10, possibly 20 so was hoping to get them a bit cheaper... I hope that doesn't sound too mean!
