The HTC Desire HD has got big things planned in order to carry on the success of the Desire name and takes smartphones to a "whole new level" as described by the manufacturer. How exactly? By combining cutting edge technology with some of the best smartphone features you could ask for.

Touchscreen fans will feel right at home with the Desire HD's huge 4.3 inch WVGA display. It provides the perfect viewing platform and one of the best browsing experiences available with Flash 10.1 support courtesy of Android 2.2. There's an 8 megapixel camera on the back with 720p video recording too, ticking all the boxes for a top vision experience.

The HTC Desire HD comes with the latest version of HTC Sense which includes new, improved security features. It does any good smartphone justice in the connectivity department with 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Desire HD really puts the 'desire' in desirable.

250mb is pretty **** for a smartphone contract.
#2
Yup, but its manageable - posted as an alternative to 18M o2 deal which had no data at all..
#3
250 mb is plenty for browsing/email checking and farting about with apps. I have 500MB allowance on mine and I have yet to go over 100mb in a month. To be fair I don't watch videos or that when I am not on a wifi connection.
#4
250mb for this show is appalling, 500mb with light usage on this phone is just about scraping by
#5
i get 500MBs as well and never get past having 300 left even after using sat nav and all the above so i don't see me having trouble, almost everyone must have access to WiFi for the bigger stuff when needed
#6
Why is this cold?

I have the Desire (not the Desire HD) on the same contract with vodafone and had to fight for it for £15 and I couldn't be happier.

You will not get a cointract like this with a £300+ phone for this money.

Scorching Deal

An alternative if you dont want it to be such a long contract is the 12 month £35 deal, works out at slightly more, since you have to pay £59 for the handset, however it does offer more; 300mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet.

Not for everyone, but it's a pretty good deal for those who dont want to spread the contract out over a longer term to reduce monthly payments.

Actual payment is £20.00 per month and 3 months free via redemption - some can't be bothered with redemption deals (perhaps a reason for cold votes).

What do you call light usage? I have 500mb/month and use Sat Nav, email, facebook, twitter, a bit (maybe halfhour) of internet EVERY day, and occasionally use it as a poratble hotspot for my laptop, but still dont go over 200mb a month. Hardly Appalling

Other than for posing I dont see why someone would want an expensive phone with such light usage.

aww no ..guess that makes me a poser - so cant be true though otherwise i'd want an iPhone 4 ;)

I'm struggling to use over 300MB a month on mine. Given that I don't use video or download apps unless i'm on wireless.

Mobile specific webpages are very compact and use little data (Amazon, HMV etc) , but I'm wary of websites which haven't got this functionality as I've used over 1MB/page (Come on Play.com!)
#13
could do with more solid reasons why this is getting marked down as those who only look at hot deals are never going to see it now
#14
By using WiFi at home and work, my usual usage is about 80-120MB/month. However, during a weekend away in London, I ended up using about 500MB over the two and half days I was there (staying in touch with RSS news feeds, syncing, looking up maps, restaurants, timetables, routes etc).

Could be for a number of reasons:

Most prefer shorther than 24 month contracts.
The price in the link is wrong (you still need to pay £20 per month and claim the rest back - this is never guaranteed and shouldn't be included in the lead price.)
Better deals available on shorter contracts.
Some people will not even click into the thread and just see it is quite cold and vote cold without reading full details.

Not saying it is a bad deal but others available that will work out better. With this one you are still paying £480 over the contract term with the possibility of £60 rebate therefore minimum payable would be £420 - considering handset is £350-£390 as sim only, not too bad.

I just got one of these with vodafone and couldn't get better than £35 month over 18 months and paid £15 for phone....got 500 data, 900 mins and unlimited texts with that but to be honest would have been interested in a cheaper contract but couldn't get one with vodafone (plenty elsewhere)

The deal below is probably better than this one

http://www.affordablemobiles.co.uk/basket.html?cdid=15550329&source=dgm&source=afff&affid=83231

Through affordablemobiles.co.uk . On T- Mobile - 18 month contract at £20.42 per month (no redemptions to worry about). 100 Mins and Texts and Unlimited Internet and possible Topcashback of £60.60. Therefore maximum amount payable over term of contract is £367.56 with possibility of it being £306.96 (however, never guaranteed to get the cash back). Even at £367.56 it seems a great deal as the handset alone is worth this or possibly more.

Actually, more I look at it, the more attractive it seems - wonder how long before someone tries to post this as a deal.

Wow heat for stuart9787 deal lol Am trying to persuade wife now !
#19
This should be spammed or corrected as there is no £17.50 deal for this.

Look at the Dolphin 15 for £15.32/month same outfot - 24 months with this HTC you get 250mb data/month + 50mins + Unlimited Txts(3000 fair usage)

Do you have the link for this deal as sounds good - are you sure the phone is free and also that it is the Desire HD and not the cheaper standard Desire. Thanks.

If you go through mobilephonechecker.co.uk and then select HTC Desire HD as the handset and narrow the Contract Term down to 12 and 18 months only, it should be at the top of the list (just click the link and will take you to the deal). Having said that, I am waiting for 'mel1408' to post the link for the deal they mentioned as sounds good. However, think they might have been mistaken and that deal probably involves paying £150 up front rather than the phone being free (I stand to be corrected though).

so weird - that's essentially what i did but it still doesn't show me that plan, my side i get check boxes for 18, 24 & 36 (disabled), if i have just 18 months ticked the cheapest i get is £25.53...

I suppose as long as it checks out its okay but still baffled - Ideally wanted vodafone but this is a good deal and as they share coverage why not, I'd say mels deal is almost definitely just a desire

Cheers for the post
