If it's not that good of a deal could someone post a better deal? I'm hoping to get this phone myself.

The Desire is slightly better than the Hero. Ring Orange they were willing to give me 600 minutes unlimited texts unlimited internet for £27.50 for 18 months and a free phone.

The reason no better deals are available as its classed as an old phone now, its 18 months old and all the major netwoorks are taking the Desire in its place.

Also 24 months and only 100 minutes is an awful contract.

It is mate , i got one a couple of weeks ago and it beats the stuffing out of my old iphone , I have a mate in o2 who says it actually outsold the iphone for the month of May which is quite some achievement . The best things are it has a much higher resolution screen , the camera is twice as good , multi-tasking , far faster processor , flash support and they dont prevent you from upgrading the memory . I worried about the android app store but it has all the best ones that are actually any use from the apple store and all the crap useless ones are coming too !

I picked up a Hero in February for £91 cash and £15 per month (300 minutes, 300 texts, 3GB data, plus unlimited texts "Flexi Booster" and 25 picture messages "in life" reward). It's a good handset, but HTC have announced that it almost certainly won't get an official release of Android 2.2, whilst handsets released this year probably will. Therefore, I'd recommend going for a Desire (a more refined version of the Google Nexus) or Legend (an upgraded version of the Hero).

the best deal i could find for the hero was on T Mobile

I got
600 x network mins
500 texts
unlimited internet (within reason)
And for the bolt on I chose unlimited landlines.

However you can shoose between a number of options dependant on what you need, there are unlimited texts, european call minutes etc..etc..

All this plus free HTC Hero with Copilot live 8 and car charger and holder.

Total £ 20 month, yes it was a 24 month contract, but my last personal phone was 2 years old, so this doesn't bother me at all. I was so pleased with the phone when it came I ordered another for my wife.

its just on the tmobile website, pay monthly, near the bottom, its such a good deal because as poster before me stated, its classed as an old phone as everyone wants the desire, but this does everything i need it to.

I hope this is of some use.

You'd get a Desire for this price.
