That's amazing. I sooooo wish we had an Asda in Bedford.

I wonder how many of these rolls will end up in a bin somewhere?

If you've a big family that's likely to get through 24 before they go stale then its a great deal but for most people I'm sure a dozen over a couple of days is more than enough.

Would it be a big ask for ASDA to sell 12 for 55p or 6 for 30p as well? That would still offer some sort of a deal for those who don't like fill up their food waste bin every week.:|

I bought a bag of the wholemeal ones about a week ago. They have really short dates (one or two days) but after watching the Great British Waste Menu, I decided that I'll decide myself when they're off or not. After all, "best before" is not a "bin it" date (barring things that include eggs). We (4 of us) finished them yesterday, quite a few days after the date had gone and none of us had any problems. The bread smelled and looked fine. It tasted great as part of foreman grilled burgers.

voted hot - these are great for bunging in the freezer
