Problem is you never know if you'll get stung with the excise duty (and the fee from the courier company) as it comes into the country.

Under the Customs limit. Great price.

Quick, secure the perimeter with a 5 block radius before this price get's away!
#13
The customs limit is £18 not including delivery, on this the item before delivery is ~£13 so no chance of being stung ;)
#14
Ordered. Came to £17.21 for me though.

Thanks IndianaBlue!!!!!

no, believe me I've sent things back home and got hit everytime whatever the value, their rules state everything is libel to duty, so much for random or based on value. Also region 1 won't look right on our tvs because of different screen ratios?

in that case you've been had and should complain. It's in black and white on the HMRC website (on my phone so can't get you the link right now). UK and US ratios are identical, it's the video format that differs, most if not all modern tvs can handle both either natively (PAL and NTSC) or by converting NTSC to PAL-60, you just need to make sure your player is region unlocked.
EDIT: Online now, link is here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/buying.htm#3
Look down to "Tax on goods bought from a non-EU country", then All Other Goods:
"If you order or send purchased goods other than alcohol, tobacco, perfume and toilet water from a country outside the EU then you:
- don't have to pay Excise Duty
- may have to pay Customs Duty on goods with a value that exceeds £135
- will have to pay Import VAT on goods with a value that exceeds £18
Note that on all goods from outside the EU, Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is £9 or under."

Anyone got their's yet?
#18
Not yet, estimated delivery on mine was March 3rd, depends if it comes by boat or by air I guess!
#19
I'm hoping Air! Mind you, I still have to make my S370 player multi-region.

If you have a Harmony remote (except maybe the cheap one that Play were selling before Christmas, as this works differently to the others) then this may be of some use (confirmed as working on a 370 later in the thread):

http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-dvd-player-multiregion-hacks/1178732-diy-sony-bdp-s360-region-free-using-harmony-remote-programmed-manually.html

If not then there is an One for all hack referenced in Post 7 that you could use.
#21
Thanks, will be using that at some point before it arrives.
#22
Mine arrived today. Class!
#23
Mine too! Good job, moving house next week!
