Offer that they do now and again according to instore leaflet picked up today its back on Mon 15th march-Weds 17th March 2010 Only.

Anyone wanting to know what the beer is like try the following thread from when this offer was on last year:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/535114/24-x-500ml-grafenwalder-pils-4-8-on

My own review of the stuff is that at that price its great. Not the worlds best lager but beats the Carling/Foster/Carlsberg stuff hands down.

Sounds like you're worried about getting mugged when you arrive back at the caravan park with some flash canned beer

All the usual idiotic anti-Lidl posts from people who've never actually tried the stuff but think it's clever to knock it.

Stick to your heavily advertised brands if you feel you need a security blanket, even though blind tastings show that they're mostly indistinguishable. Pay the high brand prices if you like, just to cover the advertising cots and higher margins. Have your big brand lager near you to compensate for all those other things you're lacking.

Suckers.......................:p

Agreed! Apart from the Czech's, who knows more about lagerthan the Germans. (Go on, someone bring Budweiser into this!!!!) :p

Nice lager, good strength and given the price of 24 x 440's in the supermarkets at the minute, damned fine deal!

The snobbery on this site - a site we all visit to save a few pence or a few quid - is amazing.
#12
Yep, ignore the snobs, this is actually quite a nice lager. Far better than Fosters, Carling and Carlsberg, and at this price it's a bargain.

So right.

The funny thing about the Lidl snobs is that they're always the not-so-bright ones who've got the least to be snobby about. Sad little people who think that buying the big advertised brand somehow makes them look good - little realising that the clever money's down at Lidl buying better stuff for a fraction of the price. :p
#14
Great price - good lager.

What a silly amount of snobbery from a nation which finds it nigh on impossible to find a european niche for our 'premium' lagers, and yet this lager is hardly marketed and yet sells by the truckload..........

I've cut down - I only drink once a night now!
#16
Just a thought too - their wheatbeer is fantastic! Love to get my hands on some of that stuff
#17
it must have improved from when i last tried it then
#18
Nice beer. Not so much a chemical beer as some of the stuff brewed here in Uk that pretends to be Belgian or from USA.
German beer is heavily regulated for quality.
#19
Off to Lidl at the weekend for me!
#20
Very very nice beer.
#21
i think anyone that doesnt go in lidl or aldi is a mug these days as thyey are missing out and yes its nice!
#22
Lovely beer at a great price. To all the beer snobs out there, go out and try it. What have you got to lose?
#23
As far as cheap lagers go it's one of the better ones, certainly preferable to Carling/Carlsberg/Fosters/Stella etc.

It's horrible when compared to more expensive beers, but when compared to it's competitors it's a good beer, especially at this price.
#24
I like this beer but to be honest, you can regulary get fosters or carling for £12 for 24 cans if you go to places like Bookers. Not to mention tesco/asda do it quite often.

Tripe!
#26
I was dubious.... Tried some & loved it!

Since Stella is "tampered" with now & down to 5% instead of the old 5.2/4 it used to be I have pretty much gone off the wife beater but this stuff is very good --- Defo for that price

Heat!!!!

Fosters? Carling? Are you seriously comparing these with a decent German-brewed beer? :-D

£12? :p
#31
How easy is it to carry this stuff home?

I only ask because I don't want to drink and drive, as I will inevitably be tempted the moment it is paid for :whistling:
#32
Really nice lager, bargain.

No but it appears you live in "LOUGHBORO" which is far worse

I got some of this at Christmas and its a nice drink

Heat added

I bought a can for 75p the other day and enjoyed it. Prefer a cold can of fosters though, so it's obviously not THAT good. Personally, i wouldn't choose to drink it again, but if I went to a party I wouldn't mind having a few tins.

What a PROPER 'winker' ;-), anyway I have had one or two lagers in my time and I've bought these from Lidl's lots and I can tell you that they are absolutely fine, easily on par with any premium lager or beer at twice the price. Heat and rep added!

Ok so as everyone has said, the beer aint bad and generally the neds/chavs/kevs or whatever dont drink this anyway no matter how cheap so I fail to get the association... :?

However, despite not living in one myself, WHAT THE F@~C is wrong with someone living in a council house? I understand that there are many people which take the p*** and scrounge of the benefits etc, whilst causing hassle... BUT at the same time there are equally as many if not far more people who actually live in council accommodation out of neccesity, work for a living, and are much nicer people then you! :whistling:

Sorry I just dont see why anyone should insult a great many people because they have tunnelvision with all the stereotypes and are too snobby with their heads stuck somewhere the sun dont shine. If you have that much of an issue, as mentioned, why are you on this site looking for bargains? :x

Aplologies to everyone else, I've not had a great few days and this sort of thing p***es me off! :w00t:

Voted hot btw...
#38
Get some Lidl cider while you are down there for the German beer - Churchwards Devon cider at 99p a pint bottle. It's better than Magners/Bulmers IMHO.

Is this brand brewed in accordance with rheinheitsgebot ? Some of the cheaper German lagers aren't any more. If it is, what a bargain.
