This peak-season festive ski week in Bulgaria has just dropped to £249 per person. It's a great deal from Inghams, and includes a week in the popular resort of Borovets for £270 off the usual rates.

Accommodation is at either the Hotel Bor or Hotel Edelweiss, with a free welcome drink, buffet-style breakfast and evening meals.

This deal is valid for travel on 19 December for Christmas stays or 8, 15 January, 2011. New Year breaks are £50 more, departing on 26 December. Stays over Christmas and New Year include a gala dinner with music and dancing.

Return flights are included from London Gatwick to Sofia. Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol departures are an extra £30 per person, with no supplement from Birmingham on 26 December. Complimentary transfers from Sofia to Borovets are included.

Book by 24 November.

About the hotel: The sister Bor and Edelweiss hotels enjoy a tranquil location amidst pine trees in the hamlet of Old Borovets. The properties are 600m from the main resort centre and around a 15-minute walk from the ski lifts. Each hotel has a bar, a lounge area and a dining room with a la carte menu.

Went to Borovets in 2009. It is fantastic! Great night life. Hotels are not fantastic but plenty of places to eat. We stayed in the best hotel there (Rila) and still food wasn't great. I visited the Bor as some friends were staying there - it's basic but generally good. Bit of a walk out.

Snowboarded for the week. Runs are good. Good mix for beginners and above.

So, so so so soo tempted by this price.... really need to resist though...

Good info. How much is ski pass and how many runs are there (would you get bored within the week if you were intermediate)?
Also how many drags lifts are there?

I didn't have any no. Neither did any of our group (9 of us). Depending on what your used too and where you have been previously it may be a bit of a drop in standards to some, but we found it really good. It is a bit seedy in places but plenty of bars to choose from.

There are quite a few drag lifts around, there there are a wide range of slopes. Lots of blacks and reds to keep the more intermediates entertained.

The lift pass for the week is £119 pp. If you need to hire board and boots / ski's then it may be worth getting the saver lesson pack. We got this and found it very good, and cost effective. The tutors are great. We often went out on the night with ours, and it was good having someone who knew the area (and language).

We booked up with Thomson Ski and going out mid Jan 2009, we got a cracking deal at £420 pp including HB at the Rila (best hotel there), and board boot and (3 day.. but turned in to 5 for no extra cost - tutor just hung out with us really) lessons. This is close to that.

Thank you for all that info, useful.

I am tempted, but two concerns:

1. Are the queues as bad as reported at busy times ( 2 hrs is not fun), I guess New Year period will be very busy.

2. Are the slopes enough for intermediates?
