The price does not make a bad wine good.
However, in this case the "Wotwine" site
describes this Champagne as "A sound
reasonable clean fizz, a little simple but
clean and fresh." They consider that it is
worth £20 so if you like Champagne then
this is a good choice. Get buying before
there is none left. It's a pity I don't drink
alcohol. HOT and thanks to chelle33 for
the post

Just called Tesco as I have a delivery for tomorrow, and Yes it will get taken at the discounted price when they scan it through. Your card wont get charged until they have scanned it through before delivery.

Tried to reserve for pickup tomorrow but it says over £100 for 4, wary of going to the next page!

We always get some in for Xmas even though I'm not keen, might have to pop down the road and grab a couple.

Here's a review on it

"Quite underwhelming sparkling. Very slight taste of biscuits but quickly becomes sour, flat and one dimensional."

It's worth what they're charging...£8 a bottle. Yet another example of a supermarket trying to convince us that a item is worth more than it is... mind you, the thieves and conmen at Tescos are masters at lying and deceiving the public.

You can get much nicer fizzy and Proseccos for a similar price...

Decent price. I'd put this in the 8-12stg category - never 20 quid plus.

Feeling a little cheated by Tesco here after buying 6 last week with 25% off making it £9.74 a bottle I think and then they do this. I suppose this is why people are boycotting them and profits are down as this really doesnt go down well with customers.....
#20
Great deal, will be shopping tomorrow

Why is that cheating? You bought at a price that you thought was decent enough. Really don't see it as Evil Tesco out to get you.

Yeah, duck them the thieving twunts.

I'm trying to order through click and collect. Although it's showing as reduced to £8, the checkout price is still £25.99 per bottle.

problem with wine reviews is that everyone has different taste buds. normally pretentious people who write wine reviews thumb their nose at anything sub £25 a bottle, and for champagne, make that £100.

I agree with your point though about getting much nicer prosecco for same price or less. The only reason champagne is called Champagne, is because it's made their. That's like saying, Vodka bought from Finland, isn't really Vodka (although Finnish Vodka clearly is superior to Russian Vodka) because it didn't originate there. Silly!

Saw advertised in Metro this morning (26/11) and was going to post but you beat me to it. Excellent offer easily the best offer availiable, can't fault an Award winning champagne for £8.

Got the last from the Stirling store this morning. Didn't have a price on the shelf so had to ask customer service first before going to the till.
