Anyone looking to trade in Red Dead Redemption (Standard Edition) can expect to get £31.30 in credit. Might be worth trading in to store credit and saving it for the new Xbox 360 or a Nintendo 3DS

Is it just credit or is cash an extra 25% aswell

Nice, will be trading in RDR then, also you get £1 extra for each game in one of those paper trade-in bags.
#3
Is this nationwide or store specific?
#4
Last time they did this it actually made the trade-in worth it, which is pretty novel for game. Got a few things I could trade-in towards a 3DS..
#5
Will this work on consoles?

According to that link I have to pay £20 more than what I was quoted the other day.
Got a 60GB 360, was told I'd get £80 credit for it.

Err, are you 100% sure this is for all games and not just Wii ones? if you check out MiniChr1s's link it sounds like it's only the Wii one and you have to make sure you do the sticker crap to get it?

same question

Games extra trade in prices are usually just trade in prices.
I know people who work at Game and usually get informed of any upcoming offers but haven't heard of this one.
I would check with your local store before confirming hot or not.
#13
Tesco now do trade ins and they give you more than Game do.

Correct - they have dropped trade in prices this week - I asked Saturday what i would get and went in yesterday only to be offered £40 less :x

Game trade in prices have been abysmal recently. I had 3 old games to trade; Game offered £6 credit, the Grainger around the corner gave me £11 and their prices on preowned stock was lower too.

I wonder if the Gamestation trade in + £1 will work on this ?

Wow, that sucks...I'll call my local GAME and see what they say, if not I'll try GameStation, although they'll probably be the same as they are part of the same group.

If you put your deposit down last week while the original trade-in prices still stood, they will honour the original price offered for you. I traded my 60Gb yesterday for £80 as had already pre-ordered the slim the week before:thumbsup:

WTF is a:

Xbox 360 120GB Super Elite £119.99

I thought an Elite was 120GB, and a Super Elite was 250GB. So somehow Game are offering you the same money whether it is 120GB or 250GB?

I think to be on the safe side I'm going to trade in tomorrow. I was just in GAME yesterday when I preorderd, it was still £100.
I phoned today ready to shout but the guy said with the deposit I should be OK. But as its GAME and they've already decreased the price for everyone else, I'm going in tomorrow

No 25% extra in Cambridge (either store)
#32
I spoke to GAME today who have confirmed they will honour the trade-in price I was quoted when I paid a deposit, so I'll get £80 store credit with GAME for my 60GB, woo!

You should trade in early like I plan too, incase they hear otherwise from head office and only give you £80 on the 16th.

Either way make sure to back up saves and profile onto a USB stick, I used a 8GB and filled about half of the allotted 7GB. Although there were a few game DLC's that I could of deleted I suppose.
Then just format the HDD.
When you get the new 360 Transfer Content Licences.

I'll have to made do with my PS3 for a couple of weeks, I only have 12 games for that compared to my 40 odd for the 360

What do you mainly play on the Xbox 360? Online or offline campaigns?

Mostly offline games, logged a lot hours in Oblivion, Fable 2 and Crackdown.
#36
So why are you upgrading to the new one?

So why are you upgrading to the new one?

Mostly due to the hardware revisions and that my Elites 3 year warranty is up in a couple of months. I was wanting to upgrade my 120GB HDD to 250GB and was about to, when they announced the 360 S, I thought I may as well trade in my 3 year old system for a brand new one. And as I don't have a wireless adapter, that comes included in new one. Not to mention the newer model has reduced power usage and the cpu and gpu on one 45nm chip so instead of 2 little fans it uses 1 big one.

BTW I didn't trade in my 360 today, I went into the store and talked to the Manager. I explained that I when I put down the deposit that I was told I'd get £100 for my Elite. He said that while they are now only offering £80 everyone that deposited when it was £100 will get that amount. He actually wrote it on my deposit slip and signed it.
I'd suggest that anyone worried of GAME trying to screw them over should do the same.
