25% off 24hr Rug Doctor hire for Carpet / upholstery cleaning @ Homebase Instore £16.49
Saw this in Solihull but most likely nationwide
It is the same price for the standard and the larger "wide track" version which does the job quicker and with less water changes so get that if they have them in stock
Youll need to factor in £12ish for detergent (says this does 2 rooms but i get more out of it) if you havent got any / or not using a suitable alternative (not officially recommend obviously) and another £3 for anti foam if doing upholstery too but ive got half a bottle of detergent left from last time so thought this a good deal to get them done.
There was a deal @ £15 for johnsons but that wasnt confirmed as nationwide or still on
To rent the Rug Doctor from store, you will need two forms of identification:
confirmation of your name and current address (e.g a recent household bill or bank statement).
confirmation of your signature (e.g. Full UK or Irish driving licence/photo card, bank or credit card, or valid passport.).
homebargains often have the official cleaning solutions in v cheap too apparently so have a look there if there is one nearby too before buying from homebase
see below for link for alternative 5 litre solution of £10
or buy official smaller bottle fro £10 from morrisons c/s desk

The title states Homebase instore.
you put hot (not boiling ) water with detergent in one section, you run it over the carpet in backward strokes it feeds the solution in, agitates it and then sucks it up in to a separate dirty water container
the agitator isnt likely to cause your house smell of dogs
but youll be shocked how dirty the water coming out is...
the solution is cheaper to buy in morrisons if there is one local that does rental, than it is in homebase (rental costs more though) but that scewfix link is a good price for 5 litres

Can you please tell me if you have to go over the same area of carpet several times or if once is just enough? Also, how long does it take for the carpet to dry? Upstairs in my daughter's room the carpet was placed down over wooden floor boards (used no underlay) - are these machines suitable to use on floors like this (with no underlay)
?

C
the instructions generally say not to go over an area more than 2 times to avoid over wetting, thats what i did
the machine takes up on average at least 75% of the water that gets put down according to the data
cant comment on the no underlay thing, would depend on the thickness of the carpet i guess
sorry to clarify i did the upstairs rooms and landing the other night and the stairs the next day, rather than when i posted that
the rooms were left to dry over night and were fully by morning
the stairs dried fully in about 4 hours yesterday but mostly dry in 2-3 with the windows and doors open to aid drying
if you have problems with the stairs/upholstery hose not spraying like did, check the top piece hasnt been pushed on to hard (like mine had) as this prevents the trigger working properly (discovered via youtube) just pull it back to the 2 notches and not much further

can you confirm which store from so i know if nationwide deal ? thanks
is likely to foam up more than a liquid solution and leave more bubbles in the carpet or require more runs to clear it out
