Orange have now increased what they called perk discount from 10% to 25%.

This discount is for employees and up to 5 friends and family of these employees.
Eligible employees include police offices, local government officials, local council employees including all teaching staff, mod staff, including many other private companies including Microsoft, Fujitsu, rolls-royce, asda, morrisons (if your company used orange handsets it is likely they will be included, and many more. I will be able to get a full list of all companies this weekend from a friend at orange should this be rated 'hot'.

well Orange customer 'service' was as helpful as ever...

according to "Sean" that i spoke to.....NHS staff, the Police and council staff are employed by orange so they are eligable for the discount..

if I wanted to get the discount, i would have had to speak to the head of Education at my city council who (apparently) will be able to tell be if i can get the discount or not...

This is final nail in the coffin for my time with Orange....4 rubbish years...never any reception and their service (cough cough) goes from bad to worst.....

why should the police benefit from this? I dont understand it.

On the same tone then, why should anyone get a discount? If not the police, then why should teachers or the NHS? A little bit of bitterness towards the police? Been arrested recently by any chance...

Those T&Cs still say 10%. Is there a revised version with the 25% discount. I'm also interested to see if the amount off PAYG phones has been increased.

It seems odd that their own T&Cs don't mention who's eligible for the promotion. Surely the staff must have a list of who they can and can't give the discount to. If not, is it just up to the staff/manager to interpret eligibilty? A bit hit and miss.
  10. ldndon's avatar
I have the list, I am not copying it out (as it is a print out). But If anyone wants to know if they are eligible let me know.

has anyone tried setting up an account in their name but bringing someone … has anyone tried setting up an account in their name but bringing someone else in that qualifies for this deal? E.g taking your mums payslips and setting the account in your name? obviosuly with her being there too

Yep. Got my nephew same contract as mine (iPhone 35 Extra). I took my payslip in for the discount. He took in some ID with his address and photo ID. The account/contract is in his name. Wasn't a problem.

yes it is still active, you may find that the shop requires either your mum or mother in law to be present at the time of connection. though this can change from shop to shop. it is apparent that this is only avaliable instore and not over the phone/internet/
  13. morpheus's avatar
Surely the wage slip name would have to match the name you sign up for the contract with?

Is there anywhere that lists who can get this discount?

I doubt there's a list anywhere (due to staff cuts). If you work in the public sector the odds are you can get the discount. Just take a current payslip (dated in the last 3 months) into a store and you should be fine.
  23. deleted152846's avatar
This is a very good deal - makes it better than the 20% you get off at voda on £20+ contracts if you work for one of the companies on their employee advantage plan.

After reading this post I went into my local Orange shop and was advised that on iphone4 deals it must be a new contract or an upgrade, I am only 3 months into my new contract and was advised that I can not get the discount. I would need to wait until my contract is up in 21months time. No impressed.

Just to try and answer some of the questions raised. The discount of 25% is availableon new and upgrading pay monthly customers with connections from 1 April 2011. The wage slip does not have to be in your name. As the offer is avalible to up to 5 friends or family. It's is apparently only avaliable in store according to the leaflets. This makes the stores price much cheaper than the prices online and in some cases cheaper than the retentions people. The list is apparently very big so if it is a large company u work for or they have a number of orange business contracts it is likely ypu qualify. If anything just ring your local Orange shop and ask I'm sure they will help better than customer services

It is on iPhone contracts , no previous discounts were allowed prior to this month but from the first of April it can be with this perk discount. If you go into store they will know the offer as they use perk discount regularly compared to customer services who don't
