quote:- What ever you think of kwik fit please rate the deal,

wtf, so if a place is well known for doing things badly we should rate the deal hot as the tyres have 25% off? er no, cold

bet its not 25% off balance, valve, green recycling, etc.

Well some people don't like kwik fit - they vary from centre to centre, if you have a good centre then your happy. I've heard some people say they won't use them but like I said it's different everywhere.

I have no problem with the quality of kwik fit - in fact I seen some best works on my car being done in some kwik fit in my area. Guess this is the same for franchise, you get bad and good depends on your luck. But still voted cold sorry because still not as cheap as others - blackcircles, and even my local tyre shop beat it.

The problem is, they charge 2x to start with.
e.g.. my tyres are £67.10 hat the local shop and .VAT £107.80 each at KF.
#7
they will have just put up their tyres by 25% - cold
#8
If they were serious about value they could Guarantee to beat competitor prices by 25%?

Quoted me £200 a corner last week for Dunlop Grandtrek 225x65x18, I paid £140 each locally!
#10
When exactly does the 25% come off? Code or at checkout?

I've had them before, great tyres! Other with similar/better quality and price on the market is Toyo (which I currently use).

I had Toyo's on my BMW 3 Series Sport and they were Fantastic Tyres with Great Feel & Grip. I put Goodyear Eagle F1's on after that and they were rubbish in comparison.

Camskill are probably the cheapest around.

True. I bought 2 x 205 50 17 Rainsport 2 Tyres for just over £140 and paid a local garage £10 Each to Fit

My original Michelin Pilot Primacy's always produced wheel-spin on a particular roundabout, the Barums don't. When we had snow earlier in the year I was setting off from standstill on hills where others were unable to move. They don't last as long, but at that price it doesn't matter.
I went for them originally as Auto Express recommended them.

Dunno if anyone has said this yet but Black Circles will most likely be cheaper than KF even with this 25% voucher!

I have decided to take a risk this year.
I wanted a set of car winter tyres 205/55/16 91h Avon Ice Touring ST tyres.
The only quote i could get was £420.00 from national tyres.
I looked at over 30 online and local and not so local stores for quotes but got none.
But then i found

http://www.oponeo.co.uk

i took a risk £64.00 per tyre so £256.00 delivered form a polish company.
They now have a uk website. An 0800 contact no.Needs calling 2/3 times to connect i think.
But the lady i spoke to speaks english very well.
Checked tyres in stock etc and was most helpful.
Pay with visa etc and paypal even more secure i think side with buyer for claims.
Ordered Tuesday will post again when and if delivered ???????.
They are big in europe so thought why not give it a try.
When delivered and fitted i should save about £100.00.

Any body heard of them or used them let me no.

Thanks

Barum = Continental's budget brand and they do very well in comparison tests, eg in AutoExpress where they performed as well as the premium ones.

Well, last year I bought a full replacement set off them for my BMW 3 series the very first time - my usual supplier couldn't come anywhere near close to the price they quoted me - saved about £150 from memory [ I think it was a 25% deal at the time too] Proper branded Bridgestone Turanza runflats.

Was quite anxious letting them do the job as I am very fussy, but have to say they were absolutely ace :)
#25
that makes them just 25% dearer than my local independent...amazed people still shop here when its so easy to get a quote online at many local independents through black circle etc

Agreed, though I've never found Black Circles very competitive.

Kwik Fit do have some good prices on brand name tyres, but you must always purchase online & book your fitting time. If you just turn up you cannot get the internet prices. Downside is they are always trying to sell other work, telling you other tyres aren't legal or whatever. Last time I had front tyres they tried to tell me 1 of rears was illegal & 1 was on limit by less than 1mm. When I went to local garage for MOT following week they passed it & said tyres had at least 5000 more miles in them. I certainly wouldn't let Kwik-Fit MOT my car.
#28
No discount at all on tyres. It doesn't apply at all fitting centres and when I tried Bangor, it just applied the original price. Almost, but not quite, tepid!
#29
Well, to be fair to kwik-fit, for main branded tyres of the particular size I need for my car, they come up nearly 15 to 20% cheaper than tyreshoppers.co.uk and 8-15% cheaper than blackcircles and also cheaper than mytyres.co.uk.

I was rather surprised about that.

was in kwik fit the other day and their first quote for a set of 4 budget tyres was the cheapest i found, including searches on internet (tyre shopper, etc).
They were also the only garage out of the 3 i visited to say my back tyres were still legal.. so pretty honest i'd say.
so they not all bad imo.
