Yes, this deal has been posted before, but it was a deal for the free sim on gif-gaff and was in freebies. I'm posting this out here because:

1) Anyone with a Smartphone would love UNLIMITED (no fair usage limit) INTERNET.

2) It's great value

3) The company is one of the friendliest I have experienced

4) Anyone with an Orange San Francisco should get this

--------------------

250 mins (up from 150 because people liked it on Facebook)
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet with no fair usage (no tethering though)
£10 a month

---------------

NOTICE: FREE INTERNET ENDING ON 28TH FEB IS 100MB A DAY, INTERNET WITH GOODYBAGS IS UNLIMITED

Brilliant deal!

£4 cashback with Topcashback
- flyingflea

On my Orange San Francisco all I did was download 'giffgaffAPN' , it automatically does the settings and stuff for you, try that :)

For anyone that wants a micro sim, if you go on the Giffgaff forums there are a few members that will cut one for you. They'll test it and send it out for free.
- gavjbrown

Just to clarify for everyone - the unlimited internet on the £10 goodybag will continue after 28th Feb.

Until 28th Feb, all data on pay as your go rates (8p/min, 4p/text) is free. From then, it is 20p up to 20MB per day, then 20p per MB from there on.
- Jamjaw

If anyone has a question that's not been answered here, then Giffgaff have an excellent community forum http://community.giffgaff.com/

I dont quite get it ;o) If I pay £10 a month, then I get 250 free minutes, plus I get the credit to use too? So for my £10 I get 375 minutes effectively?
#8
This using referrer link when you visit by any chance?
should be https://giffgaff.com/orders/free-sim

They usually don't, or don't care up to a point.

I've tethered on Orange and T-Mobile without problems, it's only occasional very light usage though, no downloading or anything stupid like that. Maybe they expect more PC-like traffic with modern smartphones.

I just got the normal size one and cut it up using a template available here:
template for micro sim
works a charm with the iphone 4

I had never heard about these before, but after googling and confirming they run on o2 (living in cornwall, they're the only one with decent signal where i live), I've ordered a sim and will be switching as soon as it arrives :)

HOT deal!

Cut it into a microsim, and pop it in an iPad... cheaper than o2's plan, by 14p, and unlimited?
1 Like #20
Just swapped from O2 to giffgaff a couple of days ago.

Coverage/reception etc is of course exactly the same, just costs half as much as the same service from O2. You can even use O2 topup vouchers to buy airtime on giffgaff.

Something to be aware of - my understanding is that this is a PAYG bolt-on rather than a contract, so the tarriff could change at any time. For instance, it looks like it goes back down to 150 minutes at the end of march.

But of course the advantage of it being PAYG is that if you don't like it you can go elsewhere straightaway. I'll probably go for this when my iPhone contract runs out next month.
#22
HOT! Thanks OP
#23
I left Giffgaff as was buying a phone on contract, very impressed with them and will probably return once my contract is up - that is unless i decide to get a new phone!
#24
is it possible to port your number over onto the sim?
#25
The tariff will unlikely go down at the end of March.

Its been so successful, they wont do it.

Sorry for this silly question, to get it, I need to order free sim card and them top-up it with £10???

thanx
#29
Unlimited Internet with no fair usage (no tethering though)

well i'm on giffgaff and thethering on my i8910.....works a treat 8) only purchased a £10 goodie bag
#30
Wow, nice find! My little bro will chuffed to hear this. Heat added!
#31
Big downside is they dont have any call centres so everything is done by email and its very difficult to find places where they sell top ups if paying by cash
#32
When the goodybag offer ends on 31/3/2011 is the normal £10 deal 150mins, UNLTD sms, and UNLTD Internet?
#33
Still another month to go on my 12 month Simplicity deal, damn.

yes you do - when the SIM arrives, go onto the website and as part of the registration process it will ask you to choose to either add credit or select a goody bag (if I remember correctly, the minimum top-up/goody bag is £10)

Probably a stupid question, but... If I order a sim, then buy a £10 goody bag, do I have to keep buying goody bags each month or can I set up a rolling goodybag? I read it says you can set auto top up, but I wasn't sure if that applied to goodybags as well? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I cannot see how I sign up to the giffgaff forums to ask there?

...Apart from the fact that O2 have the worst 3g coverage in the UK. (_;)

Please ignorey ignorance but what are folk talking about when the say "tethering" when connected to the mobileinternet service.
I'm currently on an orange dolphin 20 sim and I only use around 200 mins out of the 500 I get but am paying just over £20 for it due to the vat increase and am now consideringoving yo a different network of it'll savee some cash. I wouldve bought this sim immediatly but I just want clarification on what "tethering" is.

nice 1 just ordered and heat added

thethering is attaching your PC to your phone and using your phone like a modem to connect the PC (or potentially some other device) to the internet. The unlimited internet element of the giffgaff service is supposed to be restricted to people using the sim in their phone for emails/mobile browsing etc - people using via a PC are likely to have greater download volumes (as they will be looking at full size browsers and pulling larger files etc.....)
