Was just doing my 5-9 shift at Sainsburys and I saw this in the glass cupboard, £15.99! I thought it must be wrong but checked it on the system and its all good, may just be store specific, but at this price I thought id share it with you all!

Image of receipt is here; http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/3902/img0525sp.jpg

Cheers

IF theres any more in, like, the world - hot hot hot.

Will wait before casting my vote though :)

Just to clarify, this is appears to be an external hard-drive, not a portable one. Portable drives are considered to be smaller, lighter (using 2.5" notebook drives) and don't need a dedicated power supply.

None the less, decent price if you can get one.

:) Also Sainsbury do 15% off during holiday periods for staff...

My sincerest apologies then! Didn't realise the Expansion range also included portable drives too, but having looked on the Seagate website, it clearly does.

In that case, very nice deal!

The box is identical to one a friend gave to me while i was soft modding his Nintendo Wii. It was on offer at about £30 if i remember correctly then about 2 months ago. That was a seagate expansion, USB powered.:whistling:

Yep, it is that drive by the looks of the packaging!
I managed to get one at £29.99 in January when Sainsburys had them on offer. I would have thought most stores would have sold out by now though as it was hard enough trying to locate one in January...
Good luck to anyone that finds one as for 16 quid you can't go wrong and they work fine with the Wii!!

I got the Navman £40 sat nav a few weeks ago.

Also the local store had the £400 Sony 37 inch TV, and I was seriously tempted. However the room it would have gone in was way too small so I decided against that.:x

Click "quick format" for a new HDD not having quick format selected is pretty pointless.

@Slab100... i used swissknife when i did mine, took mins to do if i remember correctly...
http://www.compuapps.com/download/swissknife/swissknife.htm try it and see... its a free download
#37
2.5in or 3.5in drive? cheers
#38
Same as that for Swissknife. Spent ages with a load of diff types of software before I found it.

Swissknife is the only one that worked.

2.5" as it's a 'portable' one.

Will have a butchers for one of these tomorrow - buying a new laptop so would be ideal to a) back up files and b) easily transfer files from my old machine(s) to the new one!
