Looks a decent deal to me :):) thiink the title should say unavailable online not offline but being a bit pedantic maybe lol.
#3
Not a bad deal. I'm sure the side of the box said it had a blu-ray drive though, even though the posted spec says otherwise.

Voted hot but I've had 4 Acers (1x lappy, 2 x netbook and a base) and all have been faulty within 28 days.

Probably just my bad luck. Good spec though.
#4
Say's Discontinued online?.
#5
But I am off to local Tesco to see if they have any?
#6
Good spec for the price, but it's Acer.
Saying that, My brother in-law has had an Acer for about 2 years now and never had a problem with it.
#7
seems like a good deal. Voted hot.
#8
I have a higher spec Acer desktop bought in October 2008 and it's a great machine, no problems whatsoever.
#9
I am writing this on my 64 Athlon ACER that i have had for nearly 3 years Now .....trouble free.....(touch wood)

Would be hot if it has a blu-ray drive too! Yep acers do have a bad reputation, and it seems you have been unlucky, my acer 6920g has been running perfectly, touch wood! :)

Last time I posted a deal - a £399 Akira 42-inch LCD TV - people were asking for proof.... So I took a pic...

Just to let you know, my friend bought one of these when they were £299 before the VAT reduction.

Very good price, best fully built PC we could find before Christmas. On board video card isn't up to much, but there is a free PCI-e slot if you want to upgrade. However there is a HDMI port at the back.

Oh and best of all, in use this PC really is silent, although there are fans inside, you honestly cannot hear them unless you press your ear up to the case! Good price, but there may be others vailable now for a similar price.

"Computer is unavailable offline but should be available instore"
that doesn't make sense?

DO NOT buy an Acer if you're after a reliable PC. God forbid should anything go wrong, their support is absolutely appauling and they are rude! I'm talking from both my experience and friends'.

I didnt vote since in terms of spec/price its very good, but the brand is just completely off-putting

I think you may have had a bad experience and your friends too. It happens. Acer are no better or worse than any other manufacture when things go wrong. We had Dell computer sin work for a long time.........and I'm talking hundreds of base units laptops and servers. Dell service was diabolical and they lost the contact with our company. New contract was with Acer. They had some teething probs but over all (From A tech at work) They have been a joy to use and work with.....even the maintenance people!!

So they are all much of a muchness.........Dell, HP Acer or whoever can all be rude and a pain when problems arise.

This is a good deal................Hear added

Decent price, voted hot.

However there laptops are addmitedly no good, however the PC's are in theory the same as any other big-brand pcs..

It will more than likely have a ECS or Foxconn motherboard etc, which are pretty reliable, I've had 2 ECS' (1x S939 and 1x LGA775).

I'd say the most likely thing to break in this would be the HDD or the PSU - the hdd could be a maxtor which imo aern't very reliable, always go for a samsung or seagate or western digital.
The PSU is probably a generic one which will more than likely stop working with in a month or two.

Other than that its a decent price.

640GB is most probably a Samsung IMHO.

For the millionth time, stop exaggerating, the power supply will last at least 3 months. :w00t:

Not so hot if you were to cherry pick the components yourself, would work out cheaper and you'd be able to avoid the phenomX3 which is a bit pants really. On the AMD side a cheaper dual core would be faster at most things. Once you add a decent sized monitor (running at say 1680x) the onboard graphics are going to struggle and eat into your system memory. I bet this runs really hot too.

Dont like to be so negative so I'll balance it out by saying if you aren't into building your own PC this could make a good casual users computer, especially as its been pointed out its quiet and with HDMI it could serve as a media center.

discontinued so looks like it will be in stores only now, probably not bad for a bare bones system...could probably buy a decent graphics card, upgrade the the ram and hopefully be able to get a better psu if it is generic.

not bad for a home user.

current model is this one by the looks
