ok thanx just watch out if people see cashback from hastings insurance,i suggest do not go with hastings because mine tracked but cashback takes 6 months and for me 2 weeks before cashback was due they hastings declined the cashback

That's not an insurance company
Like you`ve found out, cashback can be refused, the quotes are sometimes higher than if you went direct to the company.
Hence all the cold votes

Exactly the same with me with goskippy. Top cash back said it would be 3 months before id get the money. Waited until then and got the dreaded declined. You cant even contest against it because its over the period.

In my experience with car insurance it is VERY important to research before committing based on a cashback offer.

Sometimes there is better cashback via another route. Sometimes the rep on other forums (don't trust the rep on the cashback site) on payout is rubbish. Sometimes the company are known for stating a hefty cashback but routinely declining much later on. Sometimes they have crazy fees which wipe out any cashback (e.g. There was one I saw a good cashback for a couple of years ago that had a clause that they could charge £104 extra if the compare site didn't pass them all the correct details - and the net was rife with examples of them doing it too).

So personally I would NOT choose car insurance just on price. I would take into account reputation, quality of cover etc. before taking the plunge.

£2 a month saving might sound great (NB are you paying an APR - if so a 0% purchases credit card would be cheaper) but if it's a dodgy company with a poor payout record, dreadful wait times on the phone, a history of weaselling out of claims... avoid.

My final tip, once all the checking is done, try phoning their claims line at say 10pm and see how quickly the call is answered.... because this is what you really need - a guarantee that if you are in a serious accident that needs a recovery done by then they will respond quickly.

Over and out!

I would not use TCB or top cash REFUSED as I like to call them.

I found direct line cheap, saved my dad over £100 on his insurance.
and going through quidco got £25 cash back so saved £125

i hope its a insurance company because thats who i am insured with, but as with all insurance you only ever know how good or bad they are,is when you make a claim

I found going direct with tesco a fair chunk cheaper than on any comparison site when I renewed. Worth taking a look if you use any of their other services (cc etc).
