I'm thinking to put in the loft as a light unless there is a better cheaper alternative?

Great price.

For my loft I use a 4' flourescent light, that I got from wilkinsons (instore) £7.49 + some wire to connect it.

These are good to work with, if you are building/decorating. Better than halogen floodlights as glare is not so bad, they don't cast such harsh shadows, they don't get very hot, they are not as fragile if you knock them when on, and they are cheap to run. What's not to like at this price? Thanks op.

These would be great cheap studio lights for photographers.

Useful looking light. Shame there's a £5.95 delivery charge for unders under £45.... £14.44 with delivery. Anyone know a way around the delivery charge? And don't say 'spend £45' LOL X)

Went for it anyway, bought two. What's six quid between friends :) Also, don't forget Quidco peeps....

Good idea. I'll pop down to my local Wickes and pick up one.

How much are the replacement bulbs, not seen these about? Bolted to the wall it could be a cheap security light!

£5.45 postage! nearly as much for the light! this is not £8.45 it should read £14.44 u havent included the postage, thats misleading.

I don't know what advantage this would offer in a loft over a £3 pendant fitting. I'd recommend a nice long linear flourescent lamp because it will provide much more even illumination.

It's portable. I could use in other situations.

* it's box label says "28w Cool Touch Worklight". £11ish on the shelf but scans at the correct price.

I was wondering about that as well...

What about the colour spectrum though?

No probs, I think these are close to daylight, plus you can always set white balance on a grey card.

It will be about 5500K for those that are interested. Looks great as a fill light. Wish it had a clip though...

Just purchased in store and the assistant tried to convince me that it was on offer at £12 I ended up insisting that she look on the website and all of a sudden it came out at £8.49 Did not see many other bargins in there especially in the tool section.

I was more thinking of how lumpy the spectrum is, and therefore how accurately its colour rendering would be,

Mine were delivered today - I can see why it's six quid postage, I ordered two, they are bigger than I thought they would be. Very good and nice and bright. Recommended - Mine are for the garage.
