Crucial microSD (Secure Digital) Card
Crucial microSD (Secure Digital) The microSD card's tiny size, about 38 percent of the (surface area) size of a miniSD card and a mere 21 percent of the (surface area) size of a regular SD card, is designed for use in cellular phones with memory-hungry multimedia features such as music players and built-in digital cameras.

The microSD card is for use in devices equipped with microSD slots. The card can utilize the provided adapter that converts the microSD card into a regular-sized SD card, allowing the microSD to be used with other regular SD-compatible devices, such as digital cameras, MP3 players, and handheld computers. The adapter is also convenient for using a microSD card in card readers that accept SD cards but not microSD cards.

At its release, the microSD card is the smallest memory card with worldwide availability.

What is flash technology?Flash cards are solid-state devices designed with NAND flash technology, a non-volatile storage solution that does not lose its information when power is removed from the card. The cards contain no moving parts and are extremely rugged, providing much greater data protection than conventional magnetic disk drives.

1 gigabyte (GB) = 1 billion bytes. Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment.

£6.33 versus £5.99 is hardly a big difference especially as Crucial offer 7% Quidco (Ex VAT).

DVD.CO.UK are selling the SanDisk version for 4.99 plus P&P

http://www.dvd.co.uk/Hw/SanDisk-Flash-memory-card-SD-adapter-included-2-GB-microSD/SDSDQ-2048-E10M/product.htm

However if you go to amazon market place, DVD.CO.UK are selling the kingston version for £5.42 inc p&p (43p for the memory, 4.99 for the p&p) under their marketplace alias FindMemory.

Cheaper elsewhere - voted cold

ach i swore never to defend my posts...but where can you find a cheaper crucial 2gb micro sd?.dont tell me about copies of sandisc and kingston, this is direct from the manufacturer,if anything goes wrong you have to respect micron/crucial.

if i post cheap mcvities digestives do you then say i can buy netto ones for half the price?
#10
Well firstly....

Paying VAT to help our country... That has to be the worst argument I have EVER heard... and I work for HMRC in VAT for heavens sake! Even I dont see paying VAT as a big noble thing to help our country!

and Secondly (the other person)

You are calling Sandisk (One of the foremost manufacturers of memory cards) of Netto quality and Crucial of McVities.... BOY DO YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!!! the Play.com ones are not copies of Sandisk... I've had tons of them myself... They ARE Sandisk. If somebody called something a copy of a Crucial memory card... nobody would even shrug...

I only voted cold because you can get a better price elsewhere for a superior branded product... what the hell is wrong with that.... Isnt that what voting cold is all about?

Unless of Course you do want to give to that great noble charitable cause... HMRC... in which point I absolutely see your point! ;)

But the point is... IT IS CHEAPER... It doesnt matter if it isnt 'much' cheaper and you could probably apply quidco to the others anyway! and a lot of people dont USE quidco!

The difference is 20p if you use Quidco for both which as you say is cheaper.
Bu some people might prefer the Crucial deal as delivery will likely be quicker at least from my experience and the Crucial card has a lifetime warranty versus 5 years for the Play card.
That’s why I find it strange to vote this cold and to say Brrrrrrr seems an exaggerated response.

Oh... exaggerated??? lots of people go Brrr when they respond to something as cold. i have dealt with Crucial and as a rule I got things 4-5 days later ... very well packaged admittedly, but roughly the same time as from Play. My point is that as a deal it is not as good as the play deal... I'm not slagging off the poster but there is a link to all memory card deals on this site and the prices have been cheaper for some time there... and you have to admit saying that its better to pay more (without quidco) because you pay more VAT and help the country is hilariously bad (by whoever said it).

Having said all that..... I cant find the sandisk one on Play anymore now... Just their own brand at £5.99. Lets be honest as well here... Warranty? These cards seldom 'pack up' if treated properly. Quoting warranty as a reason to buy a micro sd card is like saying that you get a guarantee that a stuffed animal you buy wont run away! Pointless! If something was going to go wrong with a Micro SD card you'd know well inside 5 years! So the 'Lifetime Guarantee' is pointless...

I'm sure the original poster wasnt 'offended' by Brrrrr so why the hell are you!
