Nice upgrade for all those new Acer Revo owners
#2
Looks like memory prices are starting to drop again.
#3
Damn - I bought this for around £12 last year from play.com!

Prices have almost doubled!
#4
Wonder if it would fit in my Dell Vostro 1510.
#5
theres OCZ version for 17.99 so bought that instead. good deal
#6
Title should say MHz, not GHz OP
#7
OCZ got cancelled for me, is this a good alternative and still compatible with the NC10
#8
Great! Just what I've been looking for over past few days....I presume it will be fine in my NC10? Cheers Heat added
#9
Just checking, will this go into my Revo R3610 and will I need one or two (to make it 4gb)?

Yes, I was about to say let's bear in mind what's happened with the other play.com cheap memory deal before getting too excited:-

Should do. This memory runs at up to 800Mhz, and the Dell can only run up to 667Mhz. It should run at that slower speed according to the Play page for that item.

If your stuck about what ram your laptop or desktop pc will need there is a helpful search tool on Crucial's web site to help you
http://www.crucial.com/uk/?gclid=CO6V9ITNoaACFUYB4wod-3njZA&cpe=pd_google_uk

Not a bad upgrade and price BTY

Good god, this was so cheap a year and 3 months ago;

banned#17
theres no difference its just different ways of saying the same thing
#18
Hot deal. Just paid 32 odd quid for mine from crucial for my NC10. Althought I've not really noticed any improvement.

if you want to notice a differece, you may want to upgrade to a 64 bit OS. (if you are not running that already...)

According to this link on the Acer site:-

http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&kcond61e.c2att101=68797&sp=page16e&ctx2.c2att1=25&link=ln438e&CountryISOCtxParam=US&ctx1g.c2att92=450&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=694780094

then you have 2 slots taking 2GB each maximum of DDR2 RAM so yes this memory is compatible, if you already have memory in both slots then you'll have to swap one out.

well mines in packing now, i had the other deal but it was cancelled, but they have nicely decided to let me have this one!
#32
Sadly double that now. Wish I'd seen it earlier. PNY are an excellent make.
Just bought a Medion Akoya netbook yesterday, and this would have been handy (haven't checked if it would've been suitable yet though)

My windows Vista Dell laptop is only 32 bit, I have a 2GB ram module in it, would I be right in thinking that it's not worth a 2GB upgrade, I might as well do 1GB?
#39
mumbojumbo
You probably have 2 sticks of 1GB in your machine. Use the memory scanner on the Crucial website to check. In this case, you would probably need to remove 1 of the 2 existing sticks and replace it with a 2GB stick.

When I bought the dell I went for the one stick of 2gb so I could upgrade, so no point in another 2gb?

This did not bounce from their 'do not reply' email, it bounced from the one where you ould expect an answer
